Rental Car pricing for PDX or SEA for summer?

Looks like summer car rental prices are insane...
(I guess they always are but these seemed higher still)...
I had booked a tentative booking last July for late June/Early July this year (as soon as I booked my flights/WM TS stays at 11 mo & 13 mo out respectively) & the prices are much higher at this time: around 1700-2k+ for just over 2 weeks on Costco.. (still have my booking from last July which I will likely use unless prices come down closer-in)...
Is this normal for PDX/SEA?
I prefer Costco/Alamo ('skip the counter'); no fuss on return; no AI scanner/scammy bills like Hertz at some loxns.
Curious re folks experiences re PNW car rentals: Experiences re prices, (other) car rental Co's etc?

At PDX there is Light Rail to get Downtown Portland to pickup a rental car.
