All, just a quick reminder for all of our VIP hybrid owners, retail/resale owners, and resale only owners - if you have a standard calendar based use year - your deadline for transferring current use year non-VIP eligible points into a future use year is coming up on 3/31/2022. Please plan accordingly and make those points transfers while you still can! :)

Does anyone think it's worth paying the fee to transfer 10,800 points? and if I don't transfer, there really isn't any other use for this few of points is there??

I'm inclined to deposit any points that are worth more in MFs than the deposit fee (which 10k would be for pretty much any owner). I typically don't leave any points on the table so they would get used. But it's not an egregious loss if you don't bother. You also have the option to deposit to RCI which is free (or if you're out of reservation transactions, $19).

I'm in agreement with @paxsarah and @bnoble; for me, the 10.8K would be worth about $55, which exceeds the $39 cost to use the Points Deposit Feature. One other option is to deposit 10K in RCI or donate them. Finally, you could find something that falls in the Express Reservation window that you can rent out and borrow enough points to cover it - Koala's Wyndham fulfillment request thing is helpful for doing that.

So I can validate my spreadsheet, how are you calculating MFs/pt?

MFs/1,000 pts is provided in the annual assessments for each of the ones I own. I take a weighted average across the different ones I have, separating by appropriate bins (e.g., developer and resale) when it makes sense to.

Which will be about $75 for me, so I would certainly do it. Our Calendar year will start Oct 1st, which will be nice to not have to scrabble with unused points (in the case of cancelation) at the same time as our Hilton timeshare. Dec 31st should be an easy date to remember for transferring points forward.

So basically these values from the spreadsheet of MFs.

Code:
MF * (Points / 1000)

For @iaminak 's case, $3.78 * (10,800 / 1000) = $40.82 (the cheapest MF I could find). Right on the cusp . . .

Actually, I also include the program fees, which are $0.68/kpt with Plus Partners or $0.66 without, so it would be either:

($3.78+.66=4.44)*10.8=$47.95, assuming they were resale points

or ($3.78+.68=4.46)*10.8=$48.17, if there were any developer points in the mix.

But you've got the idea down right. Whether it's worth doing the points deposit would depend on a few other factors like if they still have a housekeeping credit this year that won't shift with the points - in that case it might be worth finding something in the express reservation window to do with the points later in the year by borrowing from a future year. YMMV, but it's a low enough amount that @iaminak felt it was worth asking.
