Relationship between City Points and Regular Points

What is the relationship between city points and regular points in the HGVC system. If you ownin Manhattan how do those points trnasferf or use in other locations.

I own HGVNY for a short flip (buy and sell) and was told HGVNY is driffent than HGVC, you can use HGVNY to trade in any HGVC, but you can't trade HGVC into HGVNY internaly,

That is also my understanding.

THe Hilton Club NY "City points" can be used at all HGVC resorts but you either can't use HGVC pts in NYC or they can only be used at Hilton Club NY within ~45 days of checkin.

Also, There seem to be more value assigned to Hilton Club Points than HGVC pts. Most 2 bd orlando TS, cost 7000 HGVC pts to stay during plat season. But I've heard that it would only cost 3500 city pts.

I rec'd a recent sales call from HGVC (to see if I had any questions).

When I whined about Hilton's lack on imagination in locating their resorts, she pointed out their new property in NYC. "Great," says I, "Too bad its virtually impossible for regular club members to get in there," which was all she needed to launch a sales pitch for buying there.
