registery repair programs

Tune-Up Utilities works fine. And the trial version is free. So you get 30 days of free registry cleaning before you have to purchase a copy. (Let the trial expire, and they'll knock a few bucks off the price.)

You can find the download link in one of my earlier posts about how to keep computers running smoothly.

Tune Up utilities is fine.

I have used it but didn't want to pay. Instead after using Tune Up I use Glary Utilities which doesn't require a payment for the free version.

I like the simple but fast registry repair and registry defrag programs imbedded in Advanced System Care (Free) by IObit, downloadable from www.cnet.com

Don't waste money

The best one I found was a new computer... :hysterical:

No seriously...buy a new computer...lot less frustrating.

Agreed. Or reload the old one to make the OS "new". In over 20 years of using a couple dozen, at least, registry cleaners/fixers NONE ever actually showed any performance improvement or fixed any identifiable issues despite reporting that anywhere from 1 to thousands of errors where "fixed". It is a waste of money - and probably time for the free ones (but no harm done with those). If you have problems look to spyware/virus/malware removers or a complete reload. Nothing else actually fixes the registry.

My experience also. I thought it was just me.

You may want to consider getting "Advanced System Optimizer". I have been using it for years and got the latest edition a couple months ago. It is the top rated software for repairing and optimizing your Windows OS. It is quite inexpensive. Here is a link that rates the software with prices etc.
