Until I moved far enough away, I very, very often got either the same gift as last year (sometimes three or four years in a row). Or I'd get something that was thoughtful. But I already had one.
With the former, I absolutely regifted. And the latter, I'd find a place that would allow a return for store credit, and then buy something else.
I assume this was said just before the purchase: "Look! An Italian pasta machine! He loves making fresh pasta. We should buy that."
Problem is, yes, I love making fresh pasta. So I have all that stuff already.
