Hello all,

I am an HGV owner and currently considering booking HGV Marbrisa through RCI.

I understand that Marbrisa is divided into Cove neighborhood and The Pointe neighborhood.

When I contacted RCI customer service, the room is assigned at the hotel's discretion upon check-in.

If anyone has experience with booking through RCI and getting a room assigned to a certain neighborhood, can you share it?

My goal is to stay in the Cove neighborhood through RCI reservations.

Or if you have any experience booking HGV Marbrisa through RCI, it would be very helpful.

IDK about Marbrisa - I booked via HGVC points where you could specify. With RCI however, just like within a specific booking type, you can usually ask the resort a week or two out of the start of the stay if they can put you in a specific place. It's not guaranteed, but usually they at least try and accommodate you.

I think they don't get a lot of specific requests, and for something where there's 2 large neighborhoods say, it's probably not too difficult to do what you want. I know when I was at SVV in Orlando, it wasn't hard to ask them to put me in building 13+ and they did just that. Massanutten was happy to oblige putting 2 Regal Vista units in the same "house". It certainly doesn't hurt to ask.

HGVC may provide an e-mail if anyone knows it on TUG they'll probably share. If not, just call the main resort number.

I have exchanged regularly into Marbrisa with RCI weeks and RCI Wyndham. GPR usually assigns RCI exchanges everywhere except The Cove. As an HGVC Elite owner at Marbrisa they have put me in The Cove by my request but had to get management permission and it took some doing. They said they rarely do it.

I just thought of something. When we stayed there about six months ago they had a meet the management meeting for guests and it was well attended. One tip they gave was for anyone who was coming to send an email to one of the two main managers about a week before you arrive ... I'm an HGVC owner, reaching out, saying hello, coming in whatever dates, look forward to staying at Marbrisa, its our anniversary (birthday ... whatever) and it would be wonderful to be able to get into the Cove neighborshood (or whatever request you have) if possible. Thanks and we look forward to our stay and possibly meeting you. They said the majority do not do this and when people reach out like this they try to help you out if possible.

@GT75 perhaps this thread should be in HGVC?
Since the thread is in reference to RCI into a HGVC resort, I think it is in the correct place. If there is information which you feel applicable to HGVC members, please repost in HGVV forum.

@JohnnyO , I usually have booked specifically cove rooms at MarBrisa using HGV points (one can see, when booking cove vs Pointe rooms).

Is it cheaper, booking MarBrisa with RCI, than using HGV pts? (usually fairly cheap, using HGV pts & have plenty of them to burn/use, so I have generally done that) + can just do long weekends rather than full weeks, unsure, if RCI will allow that, more efficiently.
+ Presume, would be daily resort fee, using RCI (vs none as HGV owner)..

We own at Marbrisa. We do not pay any extra fees no matter how we arrange our stays there. We have more HGVC points now to use and may use them at GPR's depending on our needs. We still use RCI to stay for a week at a time since we had/have plenty of RCI credits to use and we visit socal often. The cost of booking varies and YMMV. We don't want to waste any of our RCI credits and are paring them down as we go forward.

I wouldn’t worry too much, they have golf carts between the blocks if you are wanting to bbq at one (nicer bbq area and great fire pits to socialise around) or lug stuff to the pool at the other (pool, balconies are good for flower fields if in season, coyotes in a dust bowl if not!). Otherwise, it’s a 3-5 min walk.

If you want the Cove, book with your HGVC points, everyone wants the Cove and priority will go to HGVC reservations.

Have you looked at resort fees using RCI? I think that will add to the cost and you may end up in the Pointe with a much smaller pool and a long walk to the Cove if you want to use the super pool or the gym.
