The Guest Certificate fee is not refunded when the associated exchange is canceled. You may request reimbursement from BerkelyCare for this fee as well as the exchange fee if you purchased the vacation protection.
In the future I would suggest that you don't buy the guest certificate until a few days prior to the vacation. It only takes a few minutes for RCI to issue a Guest Cert.
CaliDave is correct about this - we can process a Guest Certificate up to and including the day of check-in and fax it to your guest. It's best to allow at least 48 hours though so that the resort can be notified in advance.
