REDWEEK Has NOT Paid Me

FWIW, my checkbook.io account doesn't even offer me the option to pull funds from a recipients account. I can only send money to it. Even if I overpaid someone and needed a refund, I don't even have the controls to pull money back - I would need to request they send it back.

So yeah, @dioxide45 is correct. This is a big nothing burger. Welcome to the 2000s.

This company is just really bad these days. I posted a listing that they verified and they incorrectly put the unit as a two bedroom deluxe rather than the lockoff even though I sent the confirmation. I saw the email from them once they verified the unit but didnt check to see that they changed the unit type. I only realized it once I received a low ball offer. there has to be a better avenue of rentals.

I used Redweek "full-service" (now there is a misnomer) once, and I won't do it again. They have become a money grubbing assembly line with poor service, and I'm done with them. YMMV

Redweek still has the widest reach and does a lot of advertising. You can try other options like Finding Meili or Go-Koala.

I think that is true of many companies these days. What outlets do you use now for your rentals?

I'm using Finding Meili, Dash Week, TUG and my own. None of them hold the owner's funds until after the rental.

I keep trying all those alternatives. But Redweek keeps getting my weeks rented. With these rentals and the calendar working against the clock I would rather get the revenue via Redweek.

@Radmoo52. I find it hard to believe that Redweek has not replied to your email? Please keep us posted with your situation. As much as we despise Redweek they are obligated to pay you.

Redweek delayed payments over Christmas / New Year's by a week or two, due to their payment processor technical issues. I suspect they may have the same problem reoccurring now. Here's an email from the holidays delay:

Dear Checkbook User,

We want to make you aware of recent ACH processing delays originating from our processing bank that may impact payment delivery timelines for some payments.

Our processing bank is currently conducting additional reviews on certain ACH files, which can result in temporary holds prior to release. While this type of review can occasionally occur with ACH processing, we are actively working with our banking partner to expedite the file processing and ensure credits are released as quickly as possible.

In parallel, the Checkbook team is exploring alternative solutions to ensure these delays do not happen again. We expect normal processing timelines to resume by next week.
Please note that these delays are limited to ACH payments only. No other payment methods are affected at this time.

We understand these delays can be disruptive, and greatly appreciate your continued patience and partnership. We will continue to keep you informed of any material updates. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have questions or concerns.

Best regards,

The Checkbook Support Team

Thanks this provides more context and factual information.

Do you find the combination of the three, excluding your own, work as well as Redweek? Is the combined cost the same as you would have to pay Redweek to list and sell? I excluded your own as I suspect you had that before even when Redweek did DIY and perhaps some are simply return or regular renters.

I don't mind waiting for payments but tend to get a little anxious at a week. Koala is much faster than Redweek, always beats RW by 2-3 days. I had Sheraton Desert Oasis listed with both sites and Koala was speedier, and I also made $182 more with Koala for the same rental date/ unit type.

TUG is not really working for me. I wish it did. I would be very happy. There are expectations TUG members have for rentals, I think they want bargains. I cannot reduce the rent by $200 to use TUG over RW and Koala. I am not in a hurry for my money and I would rather not send contracts myself. I have repeat renters that I am happy to work with, but new clients can be difficult.

After multiple emails, online requests and phone calls, I finally received a response. And the funds appears in my account this morning although fund transfer originally initiated March 3rd. That is UNACCEPTABLE. The agent who communicated with me claimed to be Rachael in Accounting. And although she promised to update me on certain things, I pretty much uncovered everything on my own. BUT. . . Yesterday I discovered an email legal@redweek,com. From that point on, I cc’d legal on ALL my correspondence. Not sure it made a difference, but I do have my $$. Finally I received an email from REDWEEK CFO offering his apologies and wishing to speak with me. As my husband always reminds me “ the squeaky wheel . . “

I don't really distrust RW and have to defend a late payment as a normal sort of expectation for me, but when do they really promise you will get payment? Payment is initiated within a few days after the rental begins, then a delay of a few days. Not a big deal.

There used to be a middle-man company that paid me for rentals through RW, which I know someone will remember the name, but I do not. That company clearly had issues with making payments and RW apologized again and again for them. I think it was American Title, or some such company that held escrow way too long. I remember a month later still not having payment, but that was YEARS ago.

Glad you got your money. Hopefully you can find out the source of the delay. If the transfer was initiated on March 3, the issue could be something in your banking setup causing it or your bank not communicating with the Redweek payment processor in some way.

All this digital sending of money is great but with thousands of banks and other accounts the chances of some glitch are bound to show up eventually. Not that it is fun for anyone, of course! I've always wondered how much money is out there floating around in nowhere land.
