Reddit claim that there is different, cheaper inventory for VIPs at more than 60 days out.

I only have resale Club Wyndham, so cannot actually test this myself, and of course the claims are vague so how would one test it anyway, but for those of you with both, am I wrong about points costs being the same for say a 10 month out club points reservation for resale and VIP retail, and that there is other inventory available, or is the redditor confused by Club Pass or something?

The claim is:

I’ve taken snapshots of the same resort for the same days and same room type under my developer points which was ~70 points less than the same type unit, timeframe, number of days, etc. etc. for the same resale reservation. I’ve seen this happen more than five times this year for different resorts. So, when you mention “all points see the same availability there is no developer only inventory in Club Wyndham” is simply not factual. While the category may not be listed as “developer only inventory“ there’s definitely separation within the system.. Additionally, I’ve seen on at least three occasions thus far this year where a typical unit is available under my developer points, but not available under my resale points so I had to borrow developer points from my 2027 year in order to secure the reservations. By the way, I took snapshots of both of these results.

Now, I'm assuming they typo-ed 70% points less, but maybe they do actually 70 points, in which case... why would anyone even care lol.

I've seen reservations more than the 60 day out VIP discount window be less than they should be. I've also seen reservations within the 60 day window be full points instead of discounted.

Given my experience, I'd say it's because our booking system is so riddled with problems and errors rather than by design.

I can't speak to the availability because we only have developer points.

If this is true, which I doubt, it's an error.

With the way the website is right now, I'm not AT ALL surprised it could happen

There's not even a VIP level that gives 70% off in the actual discount window, so I really don't know what that person could have been talking about. 70 points is nothing, 70k points maybe? If they can't even convey what they think the difference is, there's no way to figure out if it's true or not.
