Recover unused points?

Hi! If I purchase a resale that had unused points, can I salvage those from Hilton? Thanks!

Depends on what your contract says. Those points are part of the negotiation, and when your use year starts and whether you get those points needs to be spelled out in the contract to avoid problems later.

If your first use-year starts in 2014 and the points are from 2013, they will expire unused on 12/31, unless your seller "rescued" (banked) them for use in 2014 or if you do -- if your contract allow you to use them. You could ask the seller to do it and offer to pay the fee. But closer to New Year's, getting thru to HGVC (or online) gets dicey, as their system is overburdened by folks with similar issues.
