We're staying at HGVC SeaWorld with 2 small children and are looking for recommendations on buildings/rooms to ask for. Good access to the pool and a decent view would be best. I've heard they are also doing some renovations that should be completed by the time we arrive 1st week in March. Would it be better to ask for a freshly renovated room even if the view isn't that good? As for rooms that have been renovated, have they replaced those big tube tvs with flat screens?

We took this resort because we heard it was best for families with children, can't wait to see how it is. We also booked it through RCI instead of HGVC so we got the 2br for 4800 points instead of 7000 and didn't have to borrow points or book open season to get a complete week. What a deal :)

That was good idea using RCI. As long as you take the time to become knowledgeable of the various timeshare systems you can really benefit when it comes to really enjoying precious vacations.

Tip for future reference:

If you really desire a DVC / RCI trade, I recommend that about 11 months out from your desired trip you call the HGVC / RCI # and request the DVC reservation you desire. They will charge you a fee, but they try hard to deliver on what you ask for.

I own DVC and we can book home resorts at 11 months out and outside of home resort at 7 months. This year I also exchanged HGVC points for a DVC unit - 3400 points for a 1BR at Boardwalk of Beachclub is a great deal when you can pick up points resale pretty cheap these days.

Thanks for the tip. The problem this time was we didn't close until right before Christmas and our trip was in March so I knew there was little hope. I tried for a couple of weeks then I added all of the HGVC properties in Orlando plus Bonnet Creek (at the time I started my RCI search none of these were available). 3 days later we got the call saying they found us SeaWorld.

We knew we wouldn't have much of a problem paying for extra days 30 days out. There was also a fellow on Redweek.com who was renting out the exact week we were looking for so we also had the option of renting from him and saving our points for another time. This way we got a 2br for a full week with just the RCI fee. The 2 small children are my wife's grandkids, they will be coming with her daughter and husband and they are thrilled reading all of the reviews on SeaWorld. This will be their first visit to Orlando and they are over the moon, even without DVC. Maybe next time but we are still quite pleased with our first ever booking experience :)

Just missed you. We will be at sea world the last week of March. It would of been cool to see you there the same week since we both closed our TS about the same time.:whoopie:

We received a confirmation email from RCI and it says our unit is 2LK, what does that translate to as far as location on the property goes? I've been looking around for a map and haven't found one yet.
