Going to Myrtle Beach Ocean Watch in April. Would like some recommendations for restaurants. We have never been to Myrtle Beach before. Thanks for any tips you can give.

Hook and Barrel restaurant a few blocks from Ocean Watch..great food and nice atmosphere.

I second this recommendation. Very good food and great service. We also loved Little Pigs BBQ. Just a small simple traditional southern pulled pork BBQ but they do it up well. We also enjoyed River City Cafe for burgers and fried pickles and Soho for sushi. They both are off of 22nd Ave just west of Ocean Blv.

Drift is oustanding for breakfast. Greg Norman's is everyone's favorite with Hook and Barrel a close second. We also loved getting pastries for carryout from Croissants. There are some really great restaurants in Myrtle Beach.

Thanks everyone for the restaurant suggestions. Sounds like a solid list of places to try while in MB.

Jimmyz Hibachi used to have a location on N Kings Hwy near 62nd Ave N, but moved to a new building not far from the airport. Simple food, consistent quality and travels in to go containers well. If you have any leftovers, they also reheat easily.

There are far too many to list. But, we enjoy breakfast or lunch at Blueberry’s. They have two locations, one close to the resort and the newest and larger one in Barefoot Landing. Speaking of Barefoot, we also enjoy the Flying Fish and Taco Mundo restaurants there.

I second Chestnut Hill, that and Sea Captain's House were always our favorites. It's been awhile though. Would love to see a list of people's current recommendations with outdoor dining.

Hook and Barrel has outdoor seating and Greg Norman's has a screened in patio. Blueberry's has outdoor seating but the flies there made our breakfast unpleasant. It was a constant barrage but this was in September.

Taco Mundo has great outdoor seating right on the intercoastal. One of the best must go places is Riptydz. Ocean front beach food. Not fine dining for sure but outdoor oceanfront with a great rooftop bar. Many people here like the more upscale dining places and you aren’t going to find many of those with outdoor seating and great views.

The buffett & food at the Marriott's hotel next door to MOW, is not all that bad. A little pricey. They have outdoor seating.

We've visited Myrtle Beach almost annually for 25+ years since our son and daughter were kids staying at privately-owned villas and most recently at MOW. Our favorite restaurants for quality and consistency are:

1. *The Parson's Table, Little River, SC - award winning restaurant with local and Coastal Carolina favorites housed in a converted church built in 1885 (portions of the church including stained glass windows, chandelier, and doors have been salvaged and reused from various southern churches). Extensive wine list. About a 20-30 minute drive from MOW, but worth it.

2. *The Brentwood Restaurant and Wine Bistro, Little River, SC - award winning low country French cuisine features five separate dining rooms located in a restored historic home. Offers an extensive wine list and outdoor dining. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, they offer a three-course dinner and ghost tour.

3. *Chestnut Hill, Restaurant Row, Myrtle Beach - menu includes abundant seafood, beef, and poultry selections using fresh, local, and homemade ingredients. We love their house salad with house dressing with rolls and muffins. Desserts are fresh, locally made. Recommend making reservations requesting a table next to the windows overlooking the lake to see the turtles and alligators. Sunday brunch is phenomenal!

Our favorite Italian restaurants (we do miss Rossi's which closed years ago) -

4. *Ciao! Italian Restaurant and Bar, Myrtle Beach - dishes are made from scratch daily with freshest ingredients. Eggplant parmesan and grouper francaise among the best we've ever had. Custom built wine cellar compliments each meal.

5. *Lombardo's Italian Restaurant, Myrtle Beach - warm, quiet, romantic ambiance with white linen table cloths and rich mahogany woods, but suitable for larger family gatherings with a private dining room. Authentic, traditional Italian cuisine and offer live music on certain nights, but temporarily suspended due to covid-19.

Other recommendations -

6. The Boundary House Restaurant, Calabash , NC - worth the drive to this quaint town just across the SC border. Located across from "Callahan's of Calabash" (extensive, unique gift shop destination). One of several restaurants located in Calabash, but we found The Boundary House to be consistently excellent with fresh seafood, beef, and poultry selections. A visit to "Back Porch Ice Cream Shop" across the street after dinner is highly recommended!

7. Bimini's Oyster Bar and Seafood Market, Myrtle Beach - we found this fresh seafood restaurant just since covid-19 that is located not far from MOW/. Offers outdoor casual dining. For take out orders, one will pick up dinner at the separate seafood market and gift shop entrance next door which was nice for social distancing purposes.

8. *Sea Captain's House, Myrtle Beach - ocean front seafood dining has been an institution in Myrtle Beach for many years.

* MOW provides each guest with a restaurant recommendation list which includes these restaurants with discount offers. Reservations recommended or required at each establishment.
