we are doing a cruise next year which concludes in Fort Lauderdale can anyone recommend a resort, we dont want to go to orlando I would like to go to sarrisota but no Marriott there, so somewhere in that region would be good also any idea of availabilty through II we own Aruba, grand vista, Hilton Head and Shadow Ridge (the crusie cocludes early Oct)

Beachplace Towers in Flort Lauderdale will give you a beach/city experience. About 40 miles north are Ocean Pointe and Oceana Palms, which will give you a more relaxed beach vacation feeling while still being close to urban centers. We own at Ocean Pointe and return there every November. The ocean is still warm enough to swim in all year round at any of these resorts. HHI is also a great place for a vacation with several Marriott resorts to choose from. Other locations I'm not familiar with.

Here are a few photo albus of resrots in some of the area's you've talked about. Click on the photo to go directly to the album or, click on my signature below to see all our Webshots albums.

Hand down I would select Marriott's Ocean Pointe after a cruise. We took a 10 days Ultimate Caribbean Cruise with Celebrity Cruise Line. Five (5) Ports of Call in 10 days.

We needed a vacation after the cruise and we were so glad we chose Ocean Pointe totally R&R.

Doug would you please visit all the Marriott resorts this year and get pics......those are all fantastic....best collection I've seen yet. These should be permanently placed in a sticky at the top, along with any additional ones in the future, until we have a complete set for all the Marriotts . These will be very helpful for us all....Thx, Marty

We stayed at Ocean Pointe for a week before a cruise that left out of Port Canaveral. It is a good choice.

I'm trying to visit them all but, they keep telling me I have to show up at work sometime. ;)

I'm afraid this next year will only be new albums of resorts we currently own or have visited previously. We're trying to cut back on airfair and three of our six vacations will be drive to destinations. There's not a lot of Marriott resorts within driving distance. On the other hand, we will be adding a variety of new non-Marriott resorts to the collection of photo albums. :)
