I posted a review of our recent day at Sabal Palms in Orlando, overall we had a really nice time and they did a nice job with the refurbishment in the last few years. We like that it’s a quieter resort but we can easily walk to the World Center Marriott, no shuttle need.

One weird thing was the music at the pool. We were at the pool a few days and all they’re playing is “club” music. A bit monotonous after 2 days….We were talking to some other guests who also had the same comment. The front desk said that engineering controls the music but for a long time they’ve been asking them to change it up and nothing ever seems to change. So weird, seems like it’s the first time we haven’t really enjoyed the music at a Marriott vacation club.

Hoping it’s not a trend!

This is rather disappointing. I experienced the same problem during my last stay over a year ago. I complained to the front desk and was given the same excuse. I decided to walk over to Royal Palms to speak with the GM and expressed my concerns about the inappropriate music, especially since Sabal Palms is supposed to be a 'quiet' resort. I noticed that the music at RP pools was more mainstream and relaxing. He indicated they would make the change and the music was much better later in the week. It appears it didn't last long. Perhaps this is being controlled at the corporate level because the garbage music is likely less costly due to not having to pay license fees.
