Recent 2 star review of TUG on Google

I haven't seen the review. My experience with reviews are they need to be disputed as soon as they come up bad. Maybe email the reviewer if it's on tug.

Bill
Look at my post #10 [corrected] above. The review is there.

Look at my post #13 above. The review is there.

It doesn't look like a bad review on post 13 to me. It actually looks like a good review. I found it in post 10. That really isn't a bad review , imo. It's not great but it's not bad.

Oops, #13 was not my post. Yes, #10.

as the owner I would always consider a 2star review as bad... I personally dont feel its warranted in this situation when all the details are included...but its still a 2 star review.

It's not Tug's fault in any way. Don't beat yourself up Brian, you did the guy a solid and he knows it. That's why he gave a two star with no serious complaints.

They joined TUG last month and posted that listing. They have sent a similar email expressing dissatisfaction in not getting their unit rented. I provided a similar response with suggestions on how to improve the chances of finding a renter but have not heard back.
Nor do I expect you will. You have provided a well-reasoned response to what amounts to a rant, and that’s not what they want. Just my opinion based on their writings so far, if course. One can hope that they will get it after explanation and prove me wrong.

Cheers.

I was denied listing a rental at the Westin Lagunamar for the reason my e-mail TUG name didn't match the rental. I have a hyphenated last name, which has been kind of a pain in the arse over the years. Even though I sent proof of ownership and confirmation and was denied a second time. I still love TUG because of the great info they provide AND they helped me sell a HVC timeshare we didn't want anymore. I will probably list my Cancun timeshare week starting Jan 1st 2025 on Redweek for a fee if I can't find a friend who wants to rent it. I will give TUG a 5 star for the sell of our Hilton.

It was a 1br unit in wisconsin during memorial day week. it was priced aggressively, just a very short time before check in.
I have a 2 BR plus loft at Kala Point on the Olympic Peninsula in WA state, and I posted rental ads 5 months ahead of time for Memorial Day week on Redweek, TUG, and on my resort’s website. One bite only from a fellow who was not serious. Because the resort is not in a high-demand spot, and doesn’t offer all sorts of planned activities, I price it for much less than other locations. So, when it didn’t rent, I gave the week to my son and his family, who had a BLAST and told me they might want to buy in up there themselves! It’s the way the ball bounces; I have had more success than failure, and I certainly don’t blame TUG.
Thanks to you, I got 1/12 deeded ownership for only $1400.00, with a maintenance fee of only $1636.00 per year for FOUR weeks of ownership, and know to say NO to every sales presentation whenever we use a week deposited elsewhere (no sales pitches whatsoever at Kala Point)!! THANKS, Brian!!!!

I think most of us come to TUG for knowledge and like minded people. I don’t consider it a rental site, for that there is Redweek. The owner just wanted to get away cheap with your fee so low. You can’t please everyone. The week offered was certainly not anything I would rent and with a 1 week turnaround the person was unrealistic. You deserve all your 5 star reviews, Brian.

No matter where you list your rental, you are listing it knowing it may or may not rent.

As we approach nearly 200 5 star reviews, I noticed one came in today from a member regarding a rental that did not get rented.

I am curious as to the thoughts from the community on this one as I truly want EVERYONEs timeshare to get resold or rented via TUG, but in some situations the chances of that are reduced significantly.

I responded to the review as such, but am curious to get other owners takes on it as there is no way to grow or improve if you ignore feedback and simply rely on your own thoughts and feelings!

The guy is a knucklehead. No need to give his opinion a second thought. You know how good your site and service are, so let him go pound sand. And thank you for TUG!

I am sorry that you ran into this issue. we implemented a policy for new members posting rentals that requires the confirmation name/details to match the membership. to be rejected, both the name and email would have had to have been different...vs just a hyphenated last name? we also offer members the ability to correct or change the membership email to match if that is the only thing different.

This can cause a small % of potentially legitimate rental listings getting flagged unintentionally, but given the most common scam out there is someone offering a rental they dont actually own or pretending to be the owner it is a rule we had to place and enforce :(

HA! Mine is the first and oldest 5-star review! 6 years ago! All the rest are within the last two months.

And I didn't even get a T-shirt. :( (Just kidding, of course)

I only see 14 google reviews in the past 2 months?

reviews are pretty constant for the past 5 or 6 years since google re-enabled our business profile to allow reviews at all!

happy to have hit 200! thank you for everyone who has taken the time to submit a review of TUG!

Thanks so much Brian, I really appreciate your watching out for scammers. It's not a problem. I was just frustrated for a few minutes, but then thought, I really don't want to deal with people I don't know anyway. LOL

Hi Brian,
I think their disappointment is misplaced. They should be disappointed at the timeshare company or salesperson that suggested “how easy it is to rent out when you can’t use,” as opposed to being disappointed at the entity that is here expressly for their benefit. Keep up the job TUG does.

Try this (I used Chrome).
Enter Timeshare User Group in the Chrome Search bar.
In the response, there will be a frame on the right-hand side.
In that frame, there will be 5 stars. Right next to the stars is a link 202 Google reviews. Click it.

did you mean to respond to someone else? i can see all the reviews for TUG =)
