The minute I see a fee upfront, I would stay clear. Where did they get your number in the first place?

100% scam.
What bonus points?
RCI is a timeshare exchange service.
As soon as you pay, they disappear with your cash.

Next time you get such a call, just ask, "what's a timeshare?"

Good question about where they got my number. Okay I'm running away!

They are full of lies so in my book that is a scam. Here is a previous thread on them. You will see my post which explains what they are up to.

I do know some resorts like GPX and resortime offer rental options. I would prefer that option because they charge commission IF they rent your unit. No upfront charges. I must admit the commission is steep like 40 to 50 percent but no fee if they don’t perform.

RUN as quickly as possible. All Real Estate transactions (renting or selling) should be paid by commission ONLY (due upon performance). If you pay anyone up front then there is no incentive for them to do anything for you, and they won't. Make them EARN their money.

Just an FYI now that you have been called, you will likely be called a lot more for all types of vacation rental and timeshare scams, they sell/trade lists of timeshare owners to each other. Crooks trade this info on the dark web.

I finally got a new cell number this year and don't give it out to anyone, especially when checking in at resorts and hotels. I got a free google voice number, I give that out and have it set for do not disturb so it never rings me.
