As I'm paying taxes for a couple EOY units, it occurs to me that I've been paying every year for EOY units. How is that factored in? What's amazing is that I've been paying for 20+ years and only today began to wonder.
I imagine that the taxes are calculated in some way on value (what you paid or possibly a minimum value). An EOY unit should have less value than an annual, therefore the taxes are proportionally lower. So overall, it (theoretically) should be more or less the same tax per unit. Hopefully it is small potatoes.
