RCI week Trading Power

Is there a way to tell the Trading Power for my week and where it can be exchanged to before joining RCI?

Unless you can convince someone to allow you to log into their RCI Weeks account, you will have to settle on either calling RCI or asking on the forum for 'general' info. There are no provisions on the RCI website for you to search or get the info directly yourself.

You have to be a member to be able to see, what would convince you to become a member. A paradox for sure.

If you post exactly what you own, someone may be willing to look it up for you.

And by exactly, it should include the RCI resort number, if you have it, or the exact name, location of the resort. If you have a fixed unit number, that is helpful. Otherwise, as accurate a description of your unit as you can give - is it a two bedroom sleep 8 or sleep 6 type of thing. And of course a check in date including what year you are looking at, 2012 or 2013.

All this is helpful to those who will check the RCI deposit calculator for you.

Might not be any help for trading into. Those numbers change - like the last "red tag sale" had 'select' exchanges at 4 TPUs.

0416-Jackson Hole Racquet Club 2BR Full Kitchen 6(4) - Wk 40 - Resort only allows checkin on Sunday 9/30/2012 - Deposit Max 22TPU/Current 22TPU

0175-Lake Condominiums at Big Sky 2BR Full Kitchen 6(6) - Wk 22 - Deposit has Max 32TPU/Current 30TPU

1285-Grand Pacific Resorts at Carlsbad Inn Beach Resort - 1BR Full Kitchen 4(4) - Wk 47 - Deposit has Max 29TPU/Current 29TPU

5124-The Cliffs Club - Deposit Calculator comes back with no units available for this resort. I suspect they are no longer are affiliated with RCI or something else is going on.

Of course this is only the deposit info. I'll let someone else dig up the TPU required for an exchange. Exchange TPU can be different depending on supply and demand for an exchange and RCI markup/markdown, sales or promotions, etc. as pointed out by vacationhopeful.

I am surprised to see Lake Condominiums at Big Sky (#0175) has higher max trading power than Jackson Hole Racquet Club (#0416).

Trading power Great Parnassus

We just bought a time share last weeks with the Great parnassus in Cancun, Resort number C343. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the trading power for our resort is. Greatly appreciated. We are trying to figure out how all this works, they dont tell you all of the information....hope we didnt get ripped off.

If you bought from the developer you almost certainly got ripped off. Cancun timeshares can be bought for next to nothing in the resale market. Resold timeshare trades the same as a developer sold unit in RCI or II.

Please note that unlike regular RCI Points, their ''Points Lite'' version aka RCI Weeks often does not give the same trading power to the same week at the same resort at the same point in time. The ''value'' of a deposit may be more or it may be less, sometimes dramatically so, than the very same week taken as an exchange at the very same time. Thus using trading power they will give for a deposit will not tell you with certainty if that will work as an exchange.
