Interesting. I think a lot of us do not realize that we may have advantages based on what we own.

I'm always amazed that people settle for "buy a week, trade for a week, it's always a week." There are systems out there where it's "buy a week, trade it for five weeks, your cost per night is somewhere around $70."

For some of us, "Travel Demand Index" and similar "you don't get to trade here because we say so" limitations simply don't exist.

Over the years I've come to realize many things in II vary based on what we own. When it comes to searching prior to depositing, I think some owners have the ability to search with their units with no "trickery"; others are able to search by entering a dummy reservation #; and some of us can't do either. I think those in the first category can immediately deposit and exchange if they see something they like. I've always wondered what happens to those entering a dummy reservation if they see the perfect exchange opportunity while searching that way. Can they immediately make the exchange or will they get an error message?
For MVC, I've seen a report of someone who entered a dummy reservation number and proceeded through the book. They then had the problem that the reservation number didn't match when II went to verify the week, so they then needed to unpick that with MVC and II. The got away with it, but with a warning not to do it again.
