RCI refund for cancelled ongoing search

I had an RCI ongoing search for a few UK timeshares for this coming August when we will be there. I was able to book time at HGVC Craigendarroch Suites in August through HGVC (own at the Lodges, but this will be our first time there) so cancelled the RCI ongoing search a few weeks ago. Should I expect to see a credit on my CC for the $209 exchange fee or do they keep it "on account"? I looked though all the areas of the HGVC RCI portal site and could not see anything to indicate I now had a credit on my account, but maybe I am not looking in the right place?

They will keep it in your account but you can call and receive a refund via credit card.

I was told that they keep it as a credit. If you wanted refunded, you have to request it and then they will issue you a check and mail it to you and it may take a few weeks.

Since you have a deposit, you might as well leave it on Acct. for your next exchange. Just take a screen for documentation.

I canceled a request a few months ago. They issued a credit card refund that showed up the next day.

It may be because I used a debit card (as a Visa). I don't know. I was only offered the check in the mail.

The problem is that I don't know where to find the credit in RCI to take a screen shot. Does it show anywhere in the RCI HGVC portal? I have the email that indicates the ongoing search was cancelled, but there is no mention of what will be done with the exchange fee in it.

Keep in mind RCI fees get paid into a general balance on the account, and are used to reduce the next confirmed reservation, regardless of whether it was made using the same ongoing search. This is confusing if you don't realize what is happening, and assume a fee is associated with a specific reservation. So, most likely the fee you paid has already been used for a subsequent confirmed reservation. If not, you can call and request it be refunded, or keep the balance for your next reservation.
