So...here I am...new to timesharing...and trying to learn....I DID purchase resale....IF i were to add to my existing timeshare porfolio of wyndham points, what would be another good system to buy into to maximize my potential?

Look at the geographical area of WHERE you want to vacation. Then read about TPUs and straight weeks for maximum TPU values. Then, think if you want a mini-system (like VRI) with internal preference. Then go visit resorts and look at the level of comfort & other owners (beer belly or swims in their gold or doing shots). Yes, you are learning as MUCH or more than you did for Wyndham ... because you are not doubling your ownership, but like tripling it in complexity.

Each part of the portfolio of ownership becomes a niche of who you and your family is or likes. And you thought you had done the hard part? ;)

It also depends if points are better for the way you travel, or if week for week internal trades will work. Or if buying what you love and want to use and have an alternative method to use it in years you don't.

Some choices....

Mini point systems, like Wyndham, Worldmark, Disney (may be ONLY points), Hyatt, are very flexible. In these systems I would guess there are far more point owners that other types of owners, (but some may not have converted, but they only sell points now.)

Other Systems (that I don't know as much about) Blue Green, Diamond, VRI, to name a few, have week for week internals trades.

Shell, Holiday Inn, Starwood and Marriott have mixed systems; some points, some fixed weeks. They are trying to convert owners to points, but I would guess that more people are NOT in points but rather still in weeks. No idea what they are currently selling.)

RCI Points and RCI Weeks TPU, as well as II fall into major exchanges companies you use, but there are now a bunch of smaller exchanges, DAE, SFX, TS, Etc. that you could use if you purchased a fixed week that these exchange companies accept. (SFX has the strictest quality requirement.)

Plenty more reading and research to do.
