Normally the exchange into a 1br through RCI is 3400 points but for some reason this one is for 4800 points. Does anyone know or is it just an error?

Normally a 2br would be 4800 points

Did they up the points needed for Disney? Great exchange, by the way.

If they did it most have been very recently. Also a 1br on the hgvc portal is still listed as 3400 points.

I’m still leaning towards an error from RCI or hgvc.

yeah it’s a great exchange - I’m not gonna take it however.

Nice to see Animal Kingdom Villas. I hope you report the error ;)

honestly I won’t. Don’t have the time due to holidays etc.

Yes Please let us know what you find out. We are planning on doing an extended search for the Aulani resort on Oahu in the future for a getting away from Honolulu and we would be interested in finding out if the Disney properties are being valued more since (Its Disney) than everyplace else.

If it's not a mistake is this the NEW RCI twist of the rules like letting resorts charge resort fees for exchangers. Now the most sort after resorts can not only can charge $25/night but the exchange rate will be different so the resort gets more for the exchange from RCI.

FWIW, Perhaps this is a Disney only devaluation as I just checked RCI for other properties that we follow and didn't see this error. If Disney only, this is a significant devaluation, however we've never been able to get a match in Calif or HI and we visit Orlando once every 7 - 10 years and there are many places to stay so no big loss.

If this is a signal of things to come more broadly in RCI, then this will impact HGVC much more than MVC because the system has fewer locations. It's sad that the FAs in Mexico are now mandatory AI which makes them economically unfeasible. However, if they open the HGV cabo and the points are reasonable, perhaps we won't need RCI.

I just did a check and I can find another Disney resort called Saratoga (ssr) and there the points value is 3400 for a week.

yesterday I got yet another match for a Disney resort Boulder ridge and now there is 0 points values and I need to call to confirm it.

on another note and maybe this is not an error but I found that I can see a resort called “bonnet creek” also in the Disney area. There are 3 matches for the same resort, 1 for 7 days stay and 1 for 3 and one for 5 days.

All availability is for a 2br. 7 days in a 2br would or should be 4.800 points. That’s also what is listed for the 7 days stay. However 4.800 is also the point value for 3 or 5 days stay and IMO that should be less since its only 3 or 5 days.

To add I can only see the 3 and 5 days stay at bonnet creek with my HGVC RCI my regular RCI does not show that availability
