RCI Platinum upgrade

During the course of my research on how best to utilize our new CMV purchase, I came across posts on the benefits on upgrading to RCI platinum. So I called and it was only $20 to do it for the rest of my member year, so I upgraded. Prior to the platinum upgrade I had already booked a studio unit at the Manhatton Club for one night this past weekend. I did not think that exchanges already booked would qualify for the upgrade, so I never checked up on it.

So imagine my surprize when we got to check in and I find out that we were upgraded to a 1 bedroom 2 bathroom unit.

It was a very nice get a way!

Congrats!
I've wrestled with whether or not to join Platinum, but just haven't done it yet. I really don't do that many exchanges lately, and when I do, I usually get 2 bdrooms as we often take friends. So I'm not convinced it's worth it to us. However, I hear it works great for other vagabonds.

I would think with the CMV UDI contracts you would need to combine a lot...i bet the refunds on those could really build up

That was the main reason I did it, plus I am in the middle of planning some multi unit trips and the discount on guest certificates will come in handy.

Now I have a one bedroom DVC unit the end of June, lets see if a 2 bedroom upgrade pops up for that one.

How do we get the rebates for Platinum?

I joined because of the $20 rebate on purchasing Getaways and I have purchased quite a few this year. So how does RCI credit the rebates to us and when??
