I am trying to find out about the RCI last minute deals.

1. Are they plentiful?
2. Are they worth it?
3. Can you give away as many as you want?

Thanks!

1) depends on what you mean by plentiful. There are lots of 'Last Calls', but these are leftovers- generally 2nd or 3rd tier units in older TSs. Don't expect beachfront or Hawaii. Expect off season.

2) if you don't want to stay home.

3) I suppose you can give them away if you want to. A guest certificate ($50ish) is required so the guest can check in.

Looking for a little clarification. Are 2nd Tier and 3rd Tier average? I'm not looking for Marriott's or Hilton's. A clean, comfortable room suits us just fine. Would I be able to find these okay? Even if it takes doing research on the resort before buying?

We have found all the Last Calls clean and to be good places to stay- especially at roughly $220 (1br) to $300 a week. The better ones by my way of thinking are in the overbuilt places- Vegas, Orlando, Williamsburg, Palm Springs. Generally not much resort activity, but good base of exploration.

Incidentally, joining TUG as a paid Member ($15 yr) gives you access to thousands of resort reviews to help you choose where to go.

It will depend on where you want to visit.
These deals are mostly in older resorts.
Some are nice some not so nice.
They are better than a motel 6 for the most part if that's what you are happy with.
Orlando, Vegas, Palm Springs and places where there are lots of timeshares may have something almost year round available.
Other places less so. You really need to share with us where you want to go so we can better help you.

I've stayed in some of the older Wyndhams, motel converted beachfront properties with dumpster views, and some okay places on last calls.
I have never seen any of the top tier timeshares on a last call.
I'm sure the developers would not want that. ;)

not sure what tiers either of you are referring to. Last Call is by definition unwanted inventory. Could be surplus, could be mud season, could be unpopular location. Could even be a cancellation in a really great place and time that somehow escaped everyone elses notice ...

I would always assume a resort is clean and comfortable and if on arrival it is not, a complaint call to RCI should solve the probelm.

But if you are looking for sought-after places at sought-after times, you will be disappointed because those unit weeks will have been grabbed up long ago.

I believe there is no limit to how many you can book, but do note that there are guest certificate fees on top of the exchange/week fee.

Worth It is something only you can say as I do not know how often you would like to go to Orlando, Branson or Vegas.

To be more specific: We have three young kids, so staying in one hotel room is becoming more and more inconvenient. We are really just looking for preferably two bedrooms, living room, full kitchen that is clean. If we can get deals like that we would be thrilled. We are not too picky where we go as long as the kids can have a blast and there are things to do in the area, other than that send us anywhere.

What are the requirements to get a Last Call? RCI membership? Anything else?

Correct, just membership (which does require ts ownership). although somewhere around here there should be a list of RCI's numerous rental outlets so you can skip the member requirement.
