RCI "Confirmed-Pending Verification"

I confirmed a place in Florida with RCI on 11/30, for a week there in Feb. 2018. It said it was pending verification, and I presumed that it was waiting to make sure I'd paid my maintenance fees at the place I deposited. I was depositing a Dec. 2017 spot. So, sure, I understood that. I'd paid the maintenance fees, and figured it was a formality. Ever since, I keep checking, and it was always saying "confirmed-pending verification".

This morning, I checked it and my confirmed trip was gone! Not showing confirmed, nothing. I panicked-only slightly. There was still availability, so I put one on hold right away, and chatted with RCI's live help. End result, is it's back to being confirmed, but still pending verification. It will stay like that until our home resort says yes, we've paid the fees. The home resort says they've heard nothing from RCI. So, RCI let it go, I guess? after not hearing anything from our home resort. It went from being confirmed, to not showing at all in my account, because my home resort hadn't verified that my deposit was mine to, well, deposit. After much hemming and hawing, it now shows as "confirmed-pending verification" AGAIN in my RCI account, after I called my home resort. They first said they've heard nothing from RCI, they still haven't verified that I own and have paid my fees! And RCI won't make it "confirmed" until my home resort verifies it! I'm stuck in the middle. How do I get these two to communicate that yes, I've paid my fees and yes, I really want to deposit my week??

I am really unhappy that RCI basically told me that it's confirmed once I paid the exchange fee, but after waiting to hear from my home resort, they just released it as if I hadn't paid. There was actually a credit on my account this morning, in the amount of the fee I'd paid on 11/30. It looks like on their end, they told me it was confirmed, and waited to have my home resort verify that I'm an owner in good standing. When my home resort never responded, RCI quietly just released my previously-confirmed week, and put my exchange fee in as a credit. If I hadn't logged into my account, I would have never noticed.

I guess I'm just ranting here about my frustration over the situation. My trip is still waiting verification. I don't know what else I can do, if there is even anything that I CAN do.

It is absolutely your resort's obligation to confirm your deposit. Several times I have deposited weeks with various resorts. If it is pending after a couple of days, I contact my resort and request that it be verified. It doesn't matter whether they "received" anything from RCI. Maybe they did, maybe they didn't Whether they did or not, they owe you, as an owner, to get the deposit confirmed with RCI. My resorts make contact on that same day when I've notified them of the situation and it is removed from pending status. No matter what RCI has or has not done, it is up to your resort to complete the verification before RCI drops the deposit. They can do this and should do this without placing you in this quandry.

I wanted to place a conference call today, but when I called my home resort, the woman answering said she was alone and "just a trainee". She said she'd call me back. All day I expected to see the status lose the "pending verification" label and of course no one called me.

I'm just upset that RCI never contacted me, when they didn't get verification that I am an owner in good standing. They waited for verification from my home resort and when they didn't get it, they released my week and left me with a credit in my account, equal to the exchange fee.

If I hadn't checked my account this morning, I'd be left without that trip but a credit of $219 on my account.

Its possible RCI has been calling your resort and getting the runaround too. I deposit as soon as I pay fees and reserve a week, that way its verified before I place the OGS for an exchange.

You need to call RCI to initiate the 3-way call.

For the curious, of which I'm sure there are many (lol): RCI called my resort while I was at work today. I just had to confirm it-again-and they applied my previous payment from the previous confirmation to it. They tried to charge me the extra that the exchange fee went up to, but I wouldn't have it. Chatted with a live rep, explained that I'd confirmed it on Nov. 30th and have been waiting for verification since then. The RCI rep had me log out, she waived the increase and I logged back in and confirmed it-again. RCI also increased the amount of my deposit from 35 to 46 TPUs. What a relief!
