RCI Causes Hemorrhoids?

Does RCI Cause Hemorrhoids ?
They beginning to be a pain in the buttocks, to more and more.

I received an email from Mt. Amanzi:

"We have had lengthy discussions with RCI, with no mentionable feedback and were therefore forced to explore and consider other options to encourage members to pay their maintenance fees and have a product they can use without the hassles of points and low trading power......."

They are recommending looking into "Dial an Exchange" at http://www.daelive.com/
Does anyone care to share their experience with Dial-an-Exchange ?

I also received an email from RCI today regarding "Exchange Trading Power SLASHED...."

But RCI's site has the same issue they had the last time they announced "trading power slashed".
That was/is where you rarely get to see "Units Available".

I tried to see "Units Available" for a resort. I was informed I need to log-in so I did.
Lo-and-Behold, I was granted visibility to the units/weeks available.
Then I checked a different resort and just like the last time, I couldn't !!!
So as an experiment, I tried to access "Units Available" for the first resort, not overly surprised but .... I couldn't.

These situations causes that pain-in-the-rear-end sensation. :crash:

DAE has very limited exchanage ops in the US that are worth much.
They do offer nice bonus weeks at cheap prices starting at $99 a week.
I pretty much just use them for the bonus weeks.

You can get a free account and search without a deposit and see if you like their offerings. Maybe it's better for African owned TS's so maybe that's why they're pushing DAE but for the US, IMO RCI is better.

Thanks for your feedback !!!

I've gotten several sweet exchanges in the US (including Hawaii) via RCI.
But... if I can't see "Units Available"... it's pretty useless looking for an exchange.

If I sign-up for a "free" membership with DAE and search their "offering",
how will I know if my deposited week can "pull" their offering ???

I've got two SA weeks.
Am considering depositing a week with RCI and the other week with DAE.
Then conduct a head-to-head search to see which will give me the biggest bang for my buck.

Hi Doug,

Nice to see you post here again! I finally got rid of my last SA week at the end of 2011. I just do not have any more patience to deal with RCI and its fluctuation of SA week's trading powder. You might want to look into this as well. Just saying...:)

Ni Hao Lisa

So you're another victim of RCI-Inflicted Hemorrhoids, eh ?
I've gotten some very nice trades with SA via RCI,
which is the reason I haven't dropped them like a used *$#*

How'd you get rid of your SA weeks ?
Sell them yourself or via the resort ?

Just curious...
One never knows, does one ?

I had the same problem after looking at the link for the special, i had to clear my cookies, but once i did i could log back into RCI and search just like normal....as long as i didn't look at that link again

Sounds weird but I'll give it a whirl.

Your tip above, reminds me of "Secret Handshakes" in elementary school.
In a way... RCI's "search" feature maybe elementary school programming ?
Dunno !!!

RCI's JS code is crap. The site is terrible when it comes to performance and the overlay just eats more perf.

It pains me spending time on the site...physically pains me...

There is no trade power with DAE. It's like for like so a 1 bedroom pulls any 1 bedroom or smaller and 2 bedroom the same. I think you can pay an upcharge for a bigger unit. Honestly I've not really paid much attention to trading with them, since that's not why I use them. You might also want to try Platinum Interchange. Some have been getting great exchanges with them as well and they are also free to join.

The monkey who wrote the site was more interested in showing off tricks he/she could do then making the site fast and fluid. :D That better? ;)

RCI has some nice features that I.I. doesn't.
That being said... I wish it works more often !!!

Or... am I being unreasonable in my expectations ???

It's hard to write a website that will perform well in every browser...This forum software for instance is on version #3.6.4 literally hundreds of versions in its history and still the "User CP" bar for me is different under IE 6 and Google Chrome, with different option...

Sometimes you've got to be ok with 'good enough' instead of 'perfect'

Wow, maybe I should finally upgrade my hexabitjunior to 2.0?

Meh, Why go to Wendy's when what you really want is at McDonalds?

It's been reported in the American Medical Journal that Wendy's
burgers are much more difficult to digest than McD's.

The culprit being the square-shaped burgers.
It seems the sharp corners on the patty impede
the journey through the intestinal tract.

You read it here first !!!!

You got it the other way around. Wendy's burgers trump McD's unless its 2am in the morning and you're drunk, then McD's trumps Wendys. :D

Anyways, I had setup my Starwood exchange since everything was finished traveling and I can now see that both RCI and II should spend a little more $ on web development. Bleh!

My theory, not yet disproven...

Who the hell do they have building these sites.

It has been quite some time since I belonged to RCI and I plan never to have anything to do with RCI again in this lifetime (...or in the next lifetime either, if one should become available).

But to answer your question more directly, I was thoroughly convinced that the RCI site was actually designed, administered and operated by grade school children in Carmel, Indiana (RCI headquarters location) as part of their initial introduction to computers.

Years later, the very same complaints and observations from hapless RCI masochists abound, almost daily. I'm definitely sticking to my original theory...
