I am mainly concerned about proximity to town and I am looking to go to Cabo in October typically like to vacation in September but Google says Cabo has too much dang rain.

Proximity to town everyone on rci reviews was complaining about the undertow of the ocean and the proximity to town for the Pueblo Bonito Resort at Sunset Beach. This is where I was initially going to go but having second thoughts. I don't want to do the all inclusive I want to go on the cheap and buy food in the city.

Consider the other two Pueblo Bonito resorts--the Rose and the Blanco--which sit next to each other right on Medano Beach. They are within walking distance to town.

There is a free shuttle between the Rose and PB Sunset Beach so it would be possible to stay at SB and take the shuttle to the Rose. From there you can walk or take a taxi to downtown if you wanted to eat at the restaurants there.

It sometimes is a hassle to take the free shuttle, though, because you need to get a ticket for each ride at the bell desk at Rose and at SB.

We own at the Rose and have stayed at SB and Blanco numerous times over the past 17 years. We like the location of the Rose and Blanco better than SB, but we've had good times at all of them.

Club Cascadas is right in town also.

I'm not sure if it's listed in RCI but it is available through Trading Places.

Most of the rain will be in the mountains. Unless there is a storm, there would be very little rain in September in Cabo. It is desert.

I have stayed at many of the Cabo resorts. In my opinion, the most beautiful by far is Grand Solmar -- but that is only available through II, not RCI. Second to that I'd say Playa Grande. They are 'close' to action without being in the midst of it.

We stayed at the Pueblo Bonito Blanco -- (they no longer use Blanco in the name) -- and had a great view. You are right in the middle of the action there. Although Sunset is a lovely place to stay, I did not like the distance from town. If you want to stay on property, then it would be great.

I second fellow tuggers' suggestion on Pueblo Bonito Rose or Blanco. Right on Medano beach and they share facilities so you can stay in Blanco and access Rose (vice versa). They are right next to each other. Lots of restaurants within walking distance and the restaurants onsite are reasonable as well especially if the FX rate continues to be 13-14 pesos to 1 dollars.

Villa del Palmar Cabo (RCI) is also on Medano Beach but it is the farthest one on the strip, closer to the RIU all inclusive resort.

BTW, even thugh Medano Beach is a swimmable beach (only one where the resorts are located), it still has strong currents so be careful with children.

The beach where Pueblo Bonito sits is NOT swimmable, not even close. The crashing waves are gorgeous to look at and nice to listen to but don't even try to swim in that beach! Only swimmable beach is Medano Beach

Pueblo Bonito Blanco and Pueblo Bonito Rose on Medano Beach are good choices if you want to be in the middle of the action. Cabo Villas on Medano Beach also has a good location. Playa Grande is on the Pacific Ocean, but is only a short walk to the Marina and downtown. Solmar Beach, where Playa Grande is located, is quieter than Medano Beach, so it all depends on your likes/dislikes. We love the waves on Solmar Beach, but the rip can be deadly.

We really like the units/amenities at PB Sunset Beach (we used to own a couple of weeks there), but prefer to be within walking distance to town.

thanks

thanks very informational and very very glad I did this post.

If I couldn't swim at the beach and get out in the water and not be close to town. No way would it have been a more enjoyable stay.

:)

I don't believe "they" have ever called it that officially. It's listed as Pueblo Bonito Resort Los Cabos in RCI, but people call it the Blanco because it's white and the Rose next door is pink.
