Can anyone tell me how rci availability is for Ontario. Exchanging but more importantly what is available for paying with cash last minute. Collingwood, deerhurst and anything arounf the Barrie/Orillia area.

There is RCI Ontario availability for March and April for both exchanging and "cash" via Extra Vacations.

There are no timeshares in the Barrie / Orillia area any longer. The Carriage Ridge and Carriage Hills properties closed and were sold years ago. The new owner sold some units as condos and others he rents out as vacation rentals. In the Collingwood area I see mainly studios for the next couple of months at a very few resorts (ie; Club Cranberry) for over $700. Cndn/week. You likely wont find anything between this May & Sept at this point in time. A couple of months ago I was able to book at week at Calabogie Lodge (closer to Ottawa) for May but only on an exchange, there were no Extra or Last Call weeks available. We live 20 mins from Barrie and Orillia and about 1hr from Collingwood so I am very familiar with the area.

It has been getting a lot worse since Covid. The odd time you see Taboo, Deerhurst, Horseshoe valley has one which is just below the old Carriage Hills resort. One time we got a last minute at Dwight, Muskoka area, beautiful area. Thornberry, Royal Harbour comes up periodically if you just want to relax in a small quaint town. You pretty much have to book in advance or except what last minute places come up. almost all of them are outdated but clean and comfortable. Also, Halliburton will show occasionally also, a three bedroom lakefront cottage. Very nice but most mostly again in off season. We use trading power units and we never use more then 15 TPU for an Ontario stay off season and sometimes just pay cash for week at a discount.

Doesn't the Niagra Falls area have lots of hotel & VRBO availability in the winter ?
