Greetings all.......two (quick?) questions:
1. We recently made some reservations with SVC and were then given our new points balance. Somehow it's not matching up with what I had calculated, and the young lady couldn't successfully cause me to understand the gap. And going into the website "Transaction History" I'm also not able to figure it out. Has anyone ever had any issues with SVC messing up point balances?
2. I'm seeing a lot of complaints about maintenance fees going up an ungodly rates. IF I'm calculating properly (always a dicey bet), it seems like the Shell MF's have risen at fairly modest rates - somewhere in the 7% annual range. Does this sound right?

Cheers,
Zach

I have not had any issues with Shell regarding points (owned about 4 yrs). Do you have an online account with Shell? If so,have you checked your online transaction history? How big is the difference between you and Shell?

While the maintenance fees have gone up yearly, I have not considered them out of line. I have not received this year's yet.

Sorry, I missed your comments about already checking transaction history. I would think that would clear it up. Did you perhaps schedeule a stay that overlaps between Gold and Platinum seasons, which caused a bigger point requirement? Did you lose some banked points that did not get used? Any more details to share?

Oops.....sorry for the delayed response; I missed your note when it was posted. In recalculating and cross-checking dates, I'm of the impression that the perceived issue was "operator error" on my part. I did check the transaction history but still difficult for me to make up a running balance. But methinks you - and their numbers - are correct. Thanks for the counsel.
Cheers,
Zach

PS I agree about their MF's - I don't have a big issue with the annual increases....especially after some of the war stories I've read.
