In a couple of days we leave for a week on Kauai followed by a week on Oahu. In case of rain, we are aware of lots to do on Oahu, but, not much on Kauai. Any thoughts on what to do on Kauai when it is raining? Please don't suggest timeshare sales presentations;)
Thanks

We always stop at the Kauai Muesum, great if you like the history. There are
Also I couple Brewry's on the island if you like beer. The south shore is always a
Good bet if it's raining on other places of the island.

We went to Priceville one year during Spring Break and it rained every day. I feel your pain. We sat in the jacuzzi while it was raining and drove to the shopping areas to walk around. Also went to the movies and rented movies. It was not a good vacation.

Don't forget the free rum tasting at the Kōloa Rum Company. Light rain has never stopped us from swimming in the pool or snorkeling. Usually when it's raining on one side of the island, it's sunny on the other side. Hotel luaus usually move inside to a meeting room, so you can even do those. You can also attend the South Pacific dinner show every Wednesday at the Kauai Beach Resort.

It really depends on where you are staying. For example, if you're in Princeville, it would not be ideal to drive an hour plus in rain to Poipu.

There are quite a few things to do if you are near central Lihue. Stopping by Hamuras for a hot bowl of saimin is one of my favorites. The indoor options are fewer the further out you go (in general).

If it's raining - go south - the farther you go counter clock-wise, the less likely there is to be rain.
