My parents recently transfered a timeshare with this company out of Hilton Head. It was Los Abrigados (ILX) out of Sedona ! I dealt personally with Tom Alley since my parents are old, he did everything he promised he would do. We just received confirmation from the resort that the transfer was completed. Bottom line is the market is a disaster and they had this listed for over 2 years. So glad this is finally finished.

Do you know or care what he did with the timeshare you gave him?

Do you know that if he abandons your deed, the other owners at the resort will have to cover your maintenance fee?

The end does not justify the means...

I find it very interesting that you are posting from the exact same area where this company is located...what an amazing coincidence!

How do you know? The timeshare you supposedly gave to him has no resale value and would be very hard to sell...

I live in Hilton head Denise, I was reffered to them by friends who used them. I liked the fact that they have a store front office in Hilton Head. 22 New Orleans rd. Why so cynical? How would you recommend getting rid of timeshare that has no resale value?
 
Your story simply does not ring true - why would you come to a timeshare forum, and use the search function to look up an old thread, when you no longer own a timeshare?

It is also curious that it was so important for you to post this recommendation - that you paid for a membership. This is not the behavior of a casual former owner...

How did you find out about TUG? Nobody would pay for a membership just to add a positive experience to a scammer thread. It wasn't even your timeshare (within the story). But again, what would be the motivation to find TUG, let alone pay the membership fee?

You say they had it listed for two years. Where did they list it? Was it with one of those upfront fee scammers or was it on a reputable resale website? Were they asking an unreasonably high amount for it?

I realize I am feeding the shilltroll but why are "older couples" any different than other ages? Do middle aged families have an easier time getting rid of a timeshare? The common school of thought is that they are targeted by fee companies because they are an easier mark. It is interesting that you are singling out "older couples" when you are in the business of making a sale. The timeshare process is the exact same for any age group.
