Looking to find out how a triennial weeks unit would be deposited into RCI for TPUs. Does the unit get deposited as TPU in one shot or is like points accounts that deposit 1/3 per year?

As a TPU/weeks trader, I don’t see how it could be anything but depositing 1 week every 3 years. I would stay away from a weeks ownership at Grandview, especially if it wasn’t a week 52. Too many good alternatives to own at a similar price point that will be easier to get rid of.

There are some benefits to owning weeks at a Vacation Village property vs. points, as you get discounted exchanges if you stay within the Vacation Villages family.

As I own in points, someone else will have to have to offer the specifics of how the weeks ownership works.

True, indeed. But why not the Colonies Williamsburg, VV Williamsburg, or VV at Parkway, all of which can be had cheap and have weeks that will trade in weeks better than Grandview. I own Grandview in RCI points, and it is good for that. Not so much in weeks.

I Have a 1 bedroom annual 49000 points unit. I get deeply discounted extra week in the VV family as well, but I don't use them. I track II more than RCI.

You can pick up a 49K or 98K RCI points unit for the transfer cost. (1 & 2 bedroom, and $455 & $910 MF respectively.). There are a few listed in Free Timeshares now, including a $49K from me. I have decided to focus my trading in II. have bought a 2 bedroom Marriott that will displace my Grandview, and I already own 3 Vistana units.

For $1-2K you can get a 61K or 122K RCI points unit with the same MFs as above. Best play if you are going to hold more than 5 or 6 years. The other is less capital outlay and thus cheaper in the short run.

The Grandview units noted above have a great MF to RCI Points ratio. This works well if you want to travel around, and as @montygz noted, cheap exchanges into other Vacation Village properties.. Don't look at units below that 49K and 98K Points. Poor value and hard to get rid of.

Great comments here on buying something in RCI points. Although, there is no discounted exchange fee into other VV properties with RCI points unless you make a developer purchase.

Buying RCI points is not what the OP is talking about. They are looking at buying something not in points and trading weeks with TPUs.

Here is a thread from the past on trading VV weeks/TPUs in RCI.

Also anyone knows are you able to add GrandView to an existing account for Colonies on dialy management? (without creating a new login)

So I already have a weeks account and from what I have read here on tug adding points would than require 1 account with 2 separate logins requiring me to switch between searches. While that may be ok for some that is not something I am interested in doing…why Grandview and not the coloniesbecuse -its readily available for adoption
-its at this point a decent trader ( traded my eoy 1 bedroom for 2 bedroom at Wyndham bonnet creek )
- and a maintenance fee that's reasonable…

@escanoe whike I appreciate your experience, switching to RCI points is not something that will accomplish adding a few extra TPU to my existing account - that's my goal. I am however curious about others experience with how these are deposited and if they find it cost effective or efficient in combining with other deposits ect…

I had no issues adding my Grabdview to my existing VV Williamsbug Daily Management account. It was right on the webpage.

From what I have read it’s kind a tricky question…Standard deposits last 2 years…some older threads mention when you start playing with combining that it goes down to 1 year…

You should be able to deposit it a year before usage if you prepay your MFs. And you will be able to use it for up to two years after week of usage. Combining could change the schedule and you can pay to extend.
