If I buy resale instead of from the developer can I
1. Use my pts to buy air fair or car rentals etc.?
2. Get discounts on hotel stays (Ramada etc.) or amusmemt park passes?
3. Get free membersip in RCI or do I need to pick and join an exchange company?
4. Get treated the same as an original owner?
5. Get to stay at any Wyndham? The salesperson said I would only be allowed to stay at the resort I bought into.

Thanks

No, but it's never much of a value anyway.

2. Get discounts on hotel stays (Ramada etc.) or amusmemt park passes?

No

3. Get free membersip in RCI or do I need to pick and join an exchange company?

You get a full RCI membership included in your annual fee

4. Get treated the same as an original owner?

Yes.

5. Get to stay at any Wyndham? The salesperson said I would only be allowed to stay at the resort I bought into.

Completely false. Points are points and you can use them at any resort. Typical example of sales lies and yet another reason not to pay retail when this of misrepresentation is made to entice you in. And you PAY for it in higher, unneeded cost of purchase. Avoid the liars and buy resale.

For 1 &2, if you can find MF at $2 per 1K range, it can be done, you pay Wyndham $2,395, all your points can be use that way. If you buy your point from developer, you will need them pay you probably $1 per 1k to make the use in a reasonable way.

For 2, you do get various discount stay. But they probably more expensive than if you try priceline.

On the other hand, make sure you understand the rental market, rent out your point, either directly, or make a reservation and rent it out, than use the money for 1 &2 is usually better even if you find out MF $1 per 1K if you did not buy from retail.

For many years TS developers have tried to add value to their products by adding on things like trading your points for cruises, car rentals & air line tix. IMHO this isn't why anyone should be buying a TS. They should be buying a TS to use or trade into other TSs.

The value you get using your TS for things like cruises, car rentals & air line tix is generally a very poor value.
