Just a little more info. on departures: The new USA Departure terminal is slated to open in March, which will eliminate the need to collect your bags prior to entering US customs and the second carry on luggage screening. Even with that, our recent Saturday departure was just over an hour from curb to gate (or really the lounge). But wee flew Delta. JetBlue/United/Southwest/Frontier had a huge line out front to get into the airport. And Global entry is a huge time-saver. Better to spend 4100 for 5 years of GE than the $125pp on the VIP service, which won't help at US Customs.
If you don't have GE download the MPC app beforehand; it's the next best thing and also a huge timesaver!

I will be going to Aruba for the first time ever. There are 5 of us (3 adults and 2 children). I'm debating renting a car vs. taxi and I have a few questions. Do taxis accommodate 5 passengers? If so, would it fit all of us and our luggage? Do you recommend arranging for a private van for the roundtrip to and from the airport? Thanks in advance.

We use Bully Taxi Service when we visit Aruba…great guy…very reliable and has Vans that have no problem accommodating 5 passengers and luggage…highly recommend

We had 4 adults and 2 children, taxis to and from the resort were just fine, we did not preplan, there were plenty of taxis waiting at the airport and at the resort. We rented a car right at the resort one day mid-week to explore the island, a three-row SUV, which worked great.
