If I get A Platinum week, say 148k of options @ Kierland, I have the same benefits as if I bought in Hawaii, right.

Further, how easy is the SVN Network.

It doesn't matter where you buy, 148K Staroptions have the same value. However, as a Kierland owner you can make a reservation for your home resort at 12 mos. and you can't (try to) make a Staroption exchange to another resort until 8 mos. out.

How easy the SVN is depends on where you want to go:

St. John exchanges - very difficult
Harborside exchanges - difficult
Hawaii Exchanges - getting easier with more resorts
Every where else - easy at 8 mos. out, most of the time, except holidays

Denise is correct. The people who are the happiest with SVN are the people who plan ahead and the people who can be flexible with their travel plans. If you can travel during shoulder seasons (e.g. April/May or Sept/Oct) you will be much more successful than if you have to travel when the kids are out of school.

A lot more people were just brought into SVN so trades will only get more difficult in the foreseeable future. That makes it even more critical that you're willing to call at exactly 8 months out to get your trade.

Those ski weeks are pretty tough at 8 months out too.

Myrtle Beach during the summer is very popular.

Kierland during spring training is also very popular.
