In my RCI account, I have these items:
A deposit credit of 8 TPUs and three resort week deposits of 18, 23, and 23 TPUs. The resort weeks are at a VRI resort.
I want to combine at least my 8-TPU credit with the 18-TPU week. Is there any downside to combining all four items into one big package of 72 TPUs? or any other combinations?
It seems that rather than pay $119 each time I need to combine deposits to get a week in trade that I want, perhaps it would be better to combine everything.
Please share with me your thoughts.
Thank you,
Carole

The downside is that you will not be able to put completely separate ongoing searches on the (one) deposit, if it is combined.

Let's say you want to request Hawaii for the summer, and Las Vegas for Easter. Two separate trips.

When one exchange comes through - the other request will be cancelled, because it's on the same deposit.

So it really depends on how many different requests you want to put in.

Depending on how long you think it will take you to use the credits, you could extend the life by doing two combines, then combining again in two years.

I have a whack of TPUs that I will have trouble using up, I think, and that's what I'm doing, so that I can extend them for several more years.

Yes, the trouble with one big deposit is that you might be shortening the life of some of your deposits. I combined a bunch of stuff all at once to create a giant 71 TPU deposit. Now I'm having trouble using it up before the expiration date.

And you also can't search beyond your last expiration date, so you can't even see what's available.

I'm planning on combining what's left of the 71 with another deposit in the spring to extend the life of that combined deposit...but it will shorten the life of the new deposit.
