Question about strictness of enforcing Resale restrictions

@GonzSquad Congrats on your resale purchase. As long as you use your property and trade within the HGVC system > 6 months prior you are fine. Diamond will not affect you. They cannot affect your use of your deed at your home resort. The HGVC resorts are gorgeous and the property staff are great. Plus you can also trade via RCI, or other exchange programs if you don't like the HGVC internal system.

As you know, everything in life has risks. Do you remember purchasing your first home or car? Comparatively, your risk is small < $10k. That shouldn't bankrupt you (and if it does you should not be buying a timeshare!) The good news is that you have done your research and it is a calculated risk vs. buying developer without research which is where so many unhappy TS customers incubate. Kudos for doing your homework! You will be a happy TS buyer because you know what to expect.

Besides, if you want more trading options you can always go to a developer presentation and buy retail to requal your resale. So you are not stuck when you own resale!

I suspect that implementing these restrictions on current resale owners, while technically doable, would require more work in uncovering who-we-are than their IT geeks have the time or capacity to do. IMHO, it's far more likely that they'd simply screen for and apply the restrictions to future buyers, rather than take a look back.

But these aren't programs I'm gonna lose any sleep over, either way.
