Question about e flex exchange

Hello,
If I use a two bedroom to exchange into a three bedroom (paying the $99 upgrade fee) with Interval International, if I then pay for the flex exchange, will a new exchange be based on the original 2 bedroom or the new three bedroom? And how long do I have to use the three possible exchanges before it’s too late? Thanks so much! This is all new for me.

There is no size upgrade fees in Flex change, so size does not matter anymore. Trading power is based on original deposit.

I think Lakeshore might have meant a regular e-plus exchange and not a flex change? If so, any upgrade fees you pay while you exchange units carry though. I recently deposited a studio, exchanged into a 2BR for $198, then exchanged back into a 1BR and now back into a 2BR. If I upgrade to a 3BR, I'd have to pay another $99.

Yes, I’m sorry….I think I did mean the e-plus exchange. I exchanged a two bedroom into a three bedroom and I have the option to purchase the e-plus, which means I can keep it or exchange three more times, correct? And if my reservation is for November, do I only have until my November check in date to use the e-plus exchange, or does it extend my time? Thank you so much! And sorry for the confusion.

Yes, you can use the e-plus for 3 more exchanges. Just be mindful that if you you an eplus exchange within 60 days of your current exchange check in, you will be limited to only being able to see 60 days out.

Example:
You have your current exchange for say Nov 15th. If you want to make an eplus exchange on Oct 1st, you will only see inventory 60 days forward. That is Flex time period also when upgrade fees are waived.

What was the date of the original exchange (the one you currently have confirmed)?

Can I tag in here and ask a related question?

For II, when does the FlexChange counter roll over? Midnight eastern time? Early in the morning?

Thanks.

I just learned this the hard way. I have an exchange with 11/17 arrival. Haven't used any of the e-plus, so I was surprised it would let me look past 01/17. If I book something as a place holder, can I book again?

You can jump 2 months with each retrade. So if you retrade now into 1/17, you should theoretically be able to retrade again to about 3/17/24. Then again to 5/17

After booking the first e-trade, do I need to wait until closer to 01/17 to do the next one?

No. You can book out up to 59 days from the new checkin right away.

One thing to consider doing when you are doing e-plus retrades within the flex change 60 day period is to call Interval rather than doing them online. If you do it yourself online you will only see 59 days out from the check-in of your current exchange but on the phone I've had them tell me they sometimes can see up to 120 days out as available to book. It also helps if you have a specific date in mind that's more than 59 days out because I told them the exact date I wanted (113 days out) and they were able to get it because I had an E-plus. It's worth a shot!
