I’m considering buying a week at Quafter House in New Orleans, but see over 30 for sale on Redweek. Also, message about Outfield Resort Group owner options in the resort website with no details. What’s going on?

I too am looking at purchasing not one, but two deeded weeks at the Quarter House. We stayed there during Mardi Gras and (I) fell in love with the location. Would love to hear the good, the bad, and the ugly from those who have experienced it.

I have am waiting to complete the closing on the purchase of a 2 BR, 2BA at QH, week 8. We stayed there 20 years ago, and our daughter stayed there last year with positive experiences. Parking is a negative, but not surprising for the French Quarter. As I understand it, the Outfield Group push for conversion to II points is not mandatory for deeded owners. I am certainly not interested.

May I ask who you are using to complete the closing/transfer? The attorney we were referred to is not very responsive.

Earlier in February, I asked LT Transfers for an estimate of costs to do the closing and transfer of a QH contract. Here is part of the response:

"We charge $275.00 to prepare the documents needed to transfer your NOLA timeshares, plus postage ($15.00) and recording fees- depending on the price; these fees normally average about $160.00 for most NOLA transfers. Quarter House Resort will require a $300.00 transfer fee (we will need to verify this has not changed recently) and we will forward these funds to the resort when we notify them of the ownership change."

Love my QH weeks, they are fantastic traders in RCI, especially given the lower-than-average maintenance fees.

Sometimes the furniture can be a bit dated but the location is superb.

The whole building is outdated! The furniture fits right in!

It certainly is outdated but there probably isn't a better place for exploring the French Quarter, imo. We really liked the place because of the location.

I love Quarter House -- the facility, the location, and the staff. I only wish it were closer. 1,077 miles is much more of a trip than it used to be!

@Della620 I own at Quarter House and love it there, its a great value for the resale price of the timeshare.

The Good --- is its really close to Bourbon St, yet far enough away that I can sleep at night. The location is close to many of the Streetcar pick up and drop off locations. You can fly in and you do not need to rent a car (cost save) as we take the Streetcars everywhere that we want to go, my favorite thing is just taking a morning a riding the streetcar in all directions. I love walking down by the Riverwalk area of NOLA, and we like to do the Steamboat Jazz Cruise ( two-hour jazz cruise aboard the Steamboat Natchez on the Mississippi River.). I love that each room is different and I love the flexibility of owning at QH, because you can do an internal exchange for another week if available and you can do an in house external exchange that is cheaper then II or RCI.

I don't really have any bad things to say except I would not go out alone at night walking around by yourself.

Purchase is complete and I've received my first maintenance fee bill--but NOTHING else. Does anyone have a good contact at the Qtr Hse? Nina and Nikki do not return phone calls, nor respond to emails. So very frustrated.

@Sugarcubesea -- I'm VERY familiar with the FQ. To the point I do go out alone at night. It's things specific to the Qtr Hse I can't seem to get nailed down.

I have only spoken to Nina and Nikki, but it has been a few years since I have called and they definitely returned my call. What information do you need? Maybe someone here can answer your questions faster.

I have yet to receive anything other than a bill. And only a bill for one u it. Not both. I would think a new owner should receive some type of informational package. For example, I know you are supposed to provide your intent for use. How do I do that? When do I do that. It really frustrates me that no one responds. It makes me seriously question my purchase, but I LOVE NOLA and fell in love with the Qtr Hse when we stayed there.

I think that I usually receive a paper to fill out about usage with my maintenance fee bill. I didn't get one this year as I recall, but I had already deposited the week, so maybe that is why. I agree that you need to get to the bottom of the missing invoice. I would call again and explain everything to someone at the front desk so that they will explain the issue to Nina or Nikki.

We really like the place but some of the areas aren't really wheel chair friendly if that is a concern. This includes entering the lobby from the street. The rooms we had were very lacking in kitchen cooking features. We had no problem with the internet. The instructions were on the table with the cable TV guide. There is no parking at the Quarter House but parking is close by.

The location is fantastic so even with the few flaws in such an old building we really like the place.
