Purchasing Week #3 - How to get it in my name in time?

Hi everyone,

I've just purchased a week 3 unit and I want to ensure that I get it transferred in time to use it… Any tricks to ensuring this happens?
 
This only thing you can really control is using an efficient closing company. That is where the hold up usually is.

Fixed week 3?

What resort?

Will the seller let you choose the closing company?
 
Buy with 2017 use and have a side agreement to rent 2016 for MF

Stay on top of it. Weekly emails and phone calls so no one forgets you. Even to the resort person who handles things on their end. Good luck! You have a decent shot at it. It's only Sept.

The purchase agreement says you are buying the unit with 2017 use.
A separate rental agreement for week 3/2016 unit at resort x for $$$ where $ ~= MF. You could then also specify that you will be writing the check to the HOA not the owner.

Purchase price is unchanged unless seller was throwing 2016 mg as a sales incentive.

It would be less complicated to say that usage starts in 2016, seller pays 2016 MF, seller agrees to make 2016 reservation for buyer and send confirmation to buyer on a specified date/time.

The seller can make the reservation for the buyer before closing with no obligation, because if things fall apart, seller can always put reservation back in his own name.
