Hello,
I am interested in purchasing a resale 3 bedroom seafront gold week at playa to lockoff and spend 2 weeks. Does anyone know how feasible it is to do this?

Check out the website for FAB timeshares in Marbella. IDK what units may lock off at Playa, but if there are gold season 3B for sale, then FAB is easy to work with. I bought my 3 resale weeks at Marbella via FAB.

We own a 3 Bed Sea Front Lock off at Playa, although a Silver week.
We have locked it off successfully many times over the years, either to stay at the resort for 2 weeks I in the Master and 1 in the Guest Suite or to exchange through Interval for 2 weeks at another MVC resort in 2 Bed units (we exchanged into resorts which did not have smaller than 2 Bed units)

I don't know about the seafront 3 bedrooms as I haven't stayed in one but I have in the 3 bedrooms at the ends of the buildings and the ones I stayed in weren't lock off capable as there was only one entrance door to the apartment and the third bedroom didn't have a kitchenette.

Barry has personal experience of seafront 3 bedrooms and his is capable of being locked off so I'd make sure the one you wish to purchase is definitely seafront.

Following on from Pompey Family’s post, there are both Lock Off and non Lock Off 3 Bed Sea Front units in Playa.
The Lock Off units are the ones showing 2 unit numbers on the attached chart.

Oh this is great to hear was not sure if it was going to be feasible to use the unit in this way. How do you know that’s what you own ? Does it say that on the estoppel?

It said unit 2209 seafront view on the contract and that is not even listed in the above chart.

Hmm. I also don’t know what, if anything, makes 2209 different so that it is not even listed along with 2009, 2109 and 2309 in the HOPA document?!
That definitely seems like a question to ask the resort / Owner Services.
All that I know for our week is that when I go to make a booking, I have all these options for occupying our unit.

Why do you have full villa if it’s a lock-off do you have the option to get a single 3 bedroom when you own lock-off as well? And not the opposite way around if you own only a single villa?
I am going to ask owner services as you advised.

We have been given the option previously of having a single 3 bedroom unit.
I am not sure if that was subject to availability or…?
We never particularly wanted this format though, so I never enquired any further a out it.

If you own a unit size at a resort that has both L/O & non L/O units in the same view category, you can reserve either subject to availability. On the flip side, you are not guaranteed the lock availability even if that's what you own. Now there may be other factors such as penthouse units that would affect this option at some resorts, like Ko Olina as those are a different category.

Not what I was trying to do. I was trying to just book a 3 BR lockoff for a week stay. The setup for the lockoff is different and works better for us - it's actually like a small hotel room with a separate entrance. The 2 units comprising the lockoff are also behind a separate door, so you enter through one door and then you have two more entry doors, one leading to a 2BR and the other to the studio (our daughter is old enough to be on her own).

It’s just 2 of us. The week we stay in the studio side is when will do day trips and stuff . Like go to Seville overnight and some day when a good deal comes along I might enroll the week.

That is risky. I would be stuck with a 3 bedroom that I don’t need.
