Hi Everyone!

I'm back at it again and looking at a 7K two bedroom platinum week at the above property. I was thinking about purchasing it for $7500 with the only "closing cost" being the $562 Hilton activation fee. The maintain will fees including everything except the club dues are $821.83. Do you think this is a good deal? As always, thanks for your support as I look to purchase. Also, is there any downside to having two feeds at two different properties? I'm still going to be looking for another 7K platinum package.

Fair price. With 2 units, you'll have 2 MF's - but that's par for the course.
Activation fee is $560 and there's a membership transfer fee is $399.

They are paying the transfer fee fortunately. Thanks for the feedback!

You might find a better deal and save $1000 if you keep trying. But is it worth all the trouble. If you get it for $7000, or $7500, that the trade and make the deal.

Oceans,

Who are you buying through?
I 'hope' to be able to announce a nice (and my first) resale purchase in the months to come .... deposit is in .... BUT I am having to pay all closing.

Now my purchase is CHEAP ... so in attempting to answer my own wonderment, I assume it is because of how cheap a resale I am buying.

Just out of curiosity.... Why do people by Las Vegas Strip locations, I get that is where everyone wants to be in Vegas. But Vegas has got to be the easiest place in the world to exchange into through RCI, II, SFX, or DAE or get extremely low priced last calls or getaways. So I would think it would be the worst ones to own if you wanted to rent if you were not going to use a given year.

I got WM, Wyndham and 98K RCI points at Grandview.... Out of these WM trades in II or RCI and Grandview in just RCI and I can pull most all strip hotels all most all year long except some Holidays for about $300MF, plus Exchange Fee when I want to go.

Now if you do it because they have lower MF than other resorts in you club's program and you want to exchange to other resorts in your program then I completely understand, as I am looking to buy a Hyatt just for this purpose since I have numerous Hyatt's within a few hours of my home.

I will never stay at the resort. I just want the points with lowest maintenance fees.

This.

HGVC is a great points program, and I would venture to say that a large percentage of owners rarely use their home week. Las Vegas has low maintenance fees and good buy-in prices.

It's the best place to get HGVC points because generally the purchase price is very good and always the MF's are the lowest! At least at the Strip location. If I'm not using my home week why would I pay more for the purchase and MF's buying somewhere like Florida or Hawaii? I want the most points for the least amount of money.
