Pueblo Bonita - Pablo San Lucas

San Jose

Nessie if you are going to be in San Jose, go to a restaurant by the name of Apostolis ( spelling may be off) It's close to the Mega store as I remember.
Have a dish called "Grandma's Fish" it was wonderful.

Did you go to Gordo's yet?
Yes! We made it there yesterday evening. The tacos were outstanding and he sang for us. Our group of nine filled up the place
and we had a blast. It was pretty hot in there last night even with the
fans going, but it was worth it.

Javier's little white dog was with him and she even sang along on a song!
She was moving kind of slow but he was so happy to have her around.

Senor Sweets isn't just for sweets. They have some great food and drinks there. You must try it.

Glad you're having a great time. The downtown area will be nice again once
they finish the road work.

Glad you made it out to Gordo's and that his dog is doing well...he was very worried 2 days ago. Yes it is pretty hot in there and we were a group of 5 with most of the fans going, and it was still a bit hot...nonetheless, the tacos are great and Javier is very welcoming and friendly. We had a great time!

I will try and make it to Senor Sweet if I can get all my shoping done. I've done nothing but relax at the resort spa, swim in the pool most of the day and at night til about 1130pm. My daughter and her firends leave today:(
I'll be left by myself for til I head home tomorrow. That's ok, I'll be able to do some shopping and not have to wait for anybody...going to downtown for another massage and then maybe to Gordo's. We ate dinner for the third time at the open-air seafood place. Love the garlic shrimp platter...and the prices.

I looked at my RCI deposit and found that I can exchange into my resort here into a 3 bedroom penthouse next August....so I'm thinking about doing that and combining it with the week I own and make a 2 week stay out of it..not bad, I love this place and I love this town!

Glad your vacation is great as well.....keep having fun!!!!!!!!!!

Have a safe flight home. That 3-bedroom penthouse sounds like a great idea! Glad you had such a wonderful stay in Cabo.

We drove down to San Jose last night and had wonderful meal at the Tropicana Inn. We drove along the hotel row at the beach and it looks so nice. Saw a couple of big hotels going up. They have really done a nice job out there.

I agree Karen.........San Jose is indeed a beautiful town. The development there will soon give us more timesharing choices I'm sure.

I heard of the Tropicana Inn...I'll have to go sometime.

Well, my vacation is coming to an end and it's just a few more hours til I head to the airport. It was wonderful as always and I'm looking forward to next year. I went up to look at the 3 bedroom penthouse model and it's awesome. I'm definitely going to exchange into it next year.

Enjoy the rest of your vacation and safe travels home to you as well.

I found an awesome open-air seafood restaurant yesterday afternoon. I like venturing into town and eating with the locals. A cab driver recommnded EL TORO GUERO. They have an extensive menu of fish, all seafood type cocktails, shrimp dinners prepared in many ways, etc. My buddy had the biggest shrimp cocktail loaded with shrimp....and tasted great. It was about $7.50...and worth every penny. I had a grilled shrimp plate that was equally delicious.
We found it! Yesterday after spending some time over at Sunset Beach we drove to El Toro Guerro. We knew we were in a good place as it was packed with local residents. I think we were the only gringos in the place. Although I'm not a seafood eater, others in the family are and they LOVED the shrimp. My son-in-law had the shrimp cocktail and a shrimp dish that was sauteed in garlic. My husband had the big shrimp that were wrapped in bacon and topped with cheese, and one of my daughters had the shrimp tacos. My other daughter and I enjoyed the cheese quesidillas, really good rice w/vegetables, and salad. For the five of us, with several beers and waters, the total was under $50.

Even though it was open-air, it was comfortable as it's a large place with a high, thatched roof and lots of ceiling fans.

YOU FOUND IT!!!!!!:whoopie:

That's great! I went there a total of 3 times. I agree, the place was packed with locals, the heat was easy to put up with since they had so many ceiling fans...They have such an extensive seafood menu...and their food is excellent.

I'm glad you ventured out.

BTW, after eating there on Friday afternoon, I drove to the Puerto Paraiso mall and walked the marina. I walked right past Senor Sweets but was still too full to eat. I will definitely try it next year.

I have a week deposited with RCI that I will be exchanging for a 3 bedroom penthouse at Hacienda Del Mar. I'm thinking about whether I should book the week I own there to give me a 2 week stay or break it up and go in March. The exchange would be in late August 2010. I heard that from the HDM, you can see the whales not far from shore during Feb and March.

decisions...decisions

Have a wonderful Cabo day!!!!!!!::wave:

I've never been in Cabo in March to see the whales, but one year my husband brought our daughter and her college roommate on their spring break. (I had to stay home with our other two kids as they had a different spring break.) They stayed at Playa Grande and saw the whales from the shore there. It was very cool!

We did all come in April one year during spring break & enjoyed the weather a lot. The ocean temps were a lot colder than they are now, though.

I think I'd break up your trip next year into two so you could see the whales and get to enjoy a little cooler weather. That penthouse does sound pretty fine!

Yes, I saw the model 3 bedroom that is shown during the TS sales tour and it's beautiful! I'm definitely doing that exchange.

I've also been looking at RCI's last calls for Cabo and I'm so tempted! lol

BTW, which PB do you own? The Rose, White, or Sunset? I believe the Rose has a spa, but do they charge owners for day use?

Those last call prices are quite amazing! I was telling my son-in-law when we were at Sunset Beach yesterday that I had seen units at SB for this week at just $199.

We've owned a fixed week, two-bedroom, oceanfront unit at the Rose for the past 11 years. Yes, spa and fitness center usage is free for owners. You have to pay for spa services, of course.

There are quite a few Last Calls and even some Extra Vacations that are low priced. It is so tempting...I'm waiting to be scheduled for foot surgery so if it isn't scheduled anytime in the next couple of weeks, I may squeeze another Cabo trip in.

That would be cool--hope it works out for you. We just got home from Cabo and had great flights to San Diego and Las Vegas. But, at the Los Cabos airport their air conditioner wasn't on!! Wow, was it ever hot in there.

Was it that way when you left last week?

OMG! It was an oven! No AC. It was baaad....so was my arrival waitin in the immigration lune for 45 mins with no AC either. Some friends of mine who flew in from Tijuana an hour after I did, made it thri fast since it was a domestic flight and they only had to get their luggage.

Glad you made it back safe and sound. I didn't realize you lived in NV. I was in Vegas a few weeks ago and depending on my surgery, I may go back in a couple of weeks. I was snooping at a last call at the Grandview. lol

Those last call deals are great aren't they!

Absolutely! I just wish I had the time for all that. I sure as heck have the desire to travel!

There's also a Bluegreen resort off of Tropicana Ave. on the Last Call....only a 4 hr drive for me...hmmm maybe I can just hang out there instead of here in L.A.
