FYI...Points required are now higher which devalues your 16:1 or 32:1 conversion. (please don't shoot the messenger)

However many resorts still offer standard room rewards for same so credit card FNCs work.

A couple of places I've looked at in London went 80K -> 90K and 70K -> 75K. Still a good deal considering the cash prices.

Cheers.

This is the first devaluation I've seen reported in HHonors in quite some time. Oh well, such as it is, stuff always gets more expensive.

Yes, it’s been a couple years at least since I remember.

Also, our TS get devalued ever year…not from point cost changes, but MF increases every year.

Inflation, staff/stuff/maintenance costs up, so understandable.
HGV changes modest as compared to Marriott, Hyatt & Wyndham, from what I understand, as a newbie...

Looks like modest changes (5-20k, for props costing 100k-130k), mostly aspirational properties (WA/Conrad etc) & not the Hampton Inn types (some of us do use those for quick weekend getaways)...

We only do these aspirational properties abroad so that's what I noticed. Domestically, we stay at Hyatt. Things like Hyatt Place and such for the lower end.

Cheers.

Suggest using FNCs for these aspirational ones... Love Chase/Hyatt place (don't like them doing a pilot to charge for BF... More junk fees...)

That's exactly what we do. We save them up for trips primarily to London. Although we do have one to use by next August and our next trip to London isn't until September. So, we'll have to find a place domestically to burn this one. Maybe something in San Francisco.

We are Hyatt Globalist, so no charges, but the precedent is not good. Of course, the benefits at Hyatt are far better than Hilton domestically.

Cheers.

Do you have top 5 London Hilton Property List points/value?

We are looking at a couple of days to adjust to Europe time zones in June.

Hard to define a top 5 that is generally applicable. We have places we like, depending upon the purpose of the trip: Tower Bridge, Waldorf (somewhat dates), Conrad (very high points at times).

These are in the 80-90K range, but Conrad is currently over 200K for our dates as no standard rooms. Then there are a host of Doubletrees and the like.

There is an excellent thread on Flyertalk on this topic:

Scroll to the end and look back a bit from there, or pose specific questions. But we really enjoyed the location and amenities of Tower Bridge.

Cheers.

The Conrad St James is our favorite...but we've only succeed in getting a standard rate once (for a three night stay).
The Waldorf Hilton is our backup with standard rate availability most of the time if you book far enough in advance.
Dukes is an interesting option for which I occasionally see standard availability...but we've never chosen it.
The Trafalgar also looks quite nice...but I've never seen standard availability for our dates.

We have stayed at the Waldorf a number of times, but somewhat long ago. Recent reviews of the location have been from bad to scathing. Not personal experience
since we've not been in a while, but recent stays and trusted sources. Just FYI.

Cheers.

Thank you. I've read them too and now I'm second guessing myself...or maybe third or fourth guessing...;)

The issue is that it's a two night stay with both us and our two adult children who need separate twin beds. While we're recovering from jetlag so I *really* want a lounge to give the four of us a 'third space' while our respective roommates sleep. And we want to stay in central London (and ideally not Mayfair).

If I then limit myself to hotels that have standard room point availability my choices are The Waldorf, the Waldorf, and the waldorf.

If you have any thoughts I'd be happy to listen.

We stayed at both the Conrad St. James and Waldorf this September. We much preferred the Conrad. Much better lounge and free breakfast than the Waldorf offered. The Waldorf was great for walking to theaters.

I have read good things about Hilton Bankside lounge.

Thank you! I was actually just looking at Hilton Bankside a minute ago. Plus it's close to The Globe which is nice...

On a prior trip we visited the Bankside and quite liked it. We almost stayed there this past August. In the end, we opted for the Tower Bridge (just up the street from Bankside and also in Southwark). The lounge has an outdoor part that has a great view toward the Thames. If there are standard rates available there for your dates, also highly recommended.

Restaurant breakfast was very nice.

Cheers.

Thanks for your advice (and that of @Huskerpaul). I just booked us all into the Bankside...it really does look quite nice.

I was thinking of staying there next trip to London. Let us know if you liked it.
Assuming we end up going it will be in August. So you may get there first...;-)

My wife stayed at the Conrad in SEP and loved it. We also stayed at Hilton Park Lane. Loved both. The Lounge is good in both, though I was told the Park Lane had better selection overall.

Not sure when we will be back, have other places to get first!
