Just thought I would let you all know the latest from locals in Puerto Vallarta regarding profeco!!!

"After budgets cuts earlier this year, the local PROFECO office closed due to high rent and virtually no operating budget. (Much to the dismay of the TimeShare community- haha)
Well, PROFECO is back, located in a mobil unit parked at the Stadium. (By the Sheraton)
Hours are 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
They are asking the local gov. to give them an office space at the old Regional Hosptial which is being renovated. "

PROFECO has the power to mediate disputes, investigate consumer complaints, order hearings, levy fines and sanctions for not appearing at hearings, and do price-check inspections of merchants. All complaints by Americans are handled by PROFECO's English-speaking office in Mexico City at 011-52-55-5211-1723. You might also complain about the lack of an English translation for the PROFECO web site."
