I purchased a timeshare in September. The deal went through well and it closed around mid November. The deed was registered at Osceala County in Florida at the end of November and I am in receipt of the original deed.
However, I have called and called and called the resort and they have still not transferred the timeshare into our names. Originally I was told this takes a couple of weeks, then with Christmas it was upped to at least 6 weeks. I am getting very frustrated as the week is a floating week and I was told I would have to book 60 days in advance to get a different week (we are leaving in a little over 6 days at this point). I have been told, not to worry about that, but also told by the resort "not to hold me to that". As well, the resort did tell me that the bill was sent to the previous owners, so currently the account is delinquent.
As well, on my deed it says there are two weeks and on the estoppels letter it said that last year's week wasn't used. Has anyone else had this much trouble with the transfer, once all of the paper work is completed. As well, does anyone think that I will have trouble using the week from last year? The resort is Mystic Dunes.

I don't know of any way you could have carried over last year's week without depositing it with II.

I just stayed there for the first time since Diamond took over and it seems the quality of service was way down from what I had experienced before.

It's a nice resort. My only complaint so far is that it only trades with II and I'd like to drop my II membership and use RCI exclusively. I hope we're not in for bad times ahead.
