Preferred check in

As far as I know, the sales center at the front entrance of Grande Vista has always been there. I am not aware of a sale center inside the actual resort.

I’m sure you are right. This is only our 2nd trip here.
My comment was to jmhpsu93 who said the sales center wasn’t in the resort.
It is now for sure.

What is the qualification for “preferred check-in”?

What is the qualification for “preferred check-in”?

I don’t know exactly.
I received an email saying we were getting it and asking when we would arrive.
Then I got a follow up phone call.
We own Marriott but we don’t own at Grande Vista.

Even if you say that you're not interested in a presentation, etc, etc, your profile and portfolio suggest to them that your
probability or higher likelihood to purchase DC points is greater than the average guest, so that's what precipitated the invite.

It's always that way....they know who's coming in, and the calls from the "concierge" are absolutely intended for the purpose
of moving you into a presentation slot. The "wine and cheese" session is a decent gift, but it has one purpose, whether they are pushy or not.

Offering anyone a "preferred check-in" is just an ego booster....a way of putting their arms around you to make you feel special,
sometimes with a wee tug of the shoulders to direct you to the concierge desk to sign up.

I agree- it is usually easier to get the clients you have to buy more than to get totally new clients.
This is just a “ new” tactic they are trying. Wonder if it will be successful. The other family in the room while we were said no too.
