I have several people I would like you all to pray for...1st: my husband who has been diagnosed with aggressive prostate cancer. 2nd: my friend's 15 yr old grandson who is hospitalized after his pacemaker failed and he is in intensive care with multiple problems, 3rd: our neighbor who is facing her 3rd recurrence of breast cancer in 7 yrs and 4th: our sister-in-laws 8 yr old grandson who is bleeding from is penis and is in test right now to find out why and lastly our 85 yr old neighbor who has Parkinson's which is attacking him inwardly and he needs help and prayers now. Thank you all...

My husband has acute myalogenic leukemia. I joined Life Extensions and they have oncologists on their staff. They will call you back and give you suggestions as to what natural remedies to use. He was really, really helpful. He also told me which ones (although good) we could skip to keep costs down. He also told me not to use one of their products, when we were taking something similar from another source. Their product had other ingredients he said that were not recommended in leukemia. Check them out. It is $75 to become a member and they said you a giant book on medical protocols combining traditional and alternative medicine.

Sorry for the bad news. I have recently had bad news as well, so I know the feeling.

For what it's worth, aggressive prostate cancer sounds worse that it is. I looked up the survival rate if your husband can have the right type of surgery. I see a 92%, 10-year cancer free survival rate. That's not bad.

Good thoughts extended to you and your family and friends. And, for what it is worth, I do not recommend any homeopathic or naturapathic remedies for serious diseases - stick with oncologists for cancer etc. Steve Jobs postponed surgery for nine months in dealing with his cancer as he explored naturapathic remedies - to his ultimate detriment. I hope that many of these situations will sort themselves outand with treatment will be manageable. Funtime

Thanks for all your prayers and good thoughts and suggestions...we have been told with his degree of cancer that surgery is not an option...only aggressive beam radiation and hormones...possibly seed treatment after 6 weeks of aggessive beam radiation or 9 weeks of beam without seed...all so confusing...going to Moffitt Cancer Center next week for a 2nd opinion...please keep praying for us and my friends 15 yr old grandson and my neighbor who has had 3 relapses in her 7 yr journey with breast cancer and awaits her next report....

Anyone know the effects of hormones plus radiation for prostate cancer...that's what they are recommending for my dh but they all seem to gloss over the nitty gritty...talk in generalities! I am getting so paranoid about treatment...don't trust what anyone says! Help!

While I do not know for sure, I would imagine that there is an internet based site for prostate cancer - sort of a tug site for the cancer. Many, many folks have been through this and your questions can probably be answered by those that have. It is unfortunate but when one is diagnosed with cancer, not only does one have to deal with the cancer, but also one has to scramble to catch up with medical lexicon, biochemistry issues etc. Just remember, most of us were not chem majors in college and all of the terminology and treatments are new to us and therefore scary - but they are not scary to those that have been through it. So I suggest you google away and see if you can find a bulletin board or discussion group. Funtime

My brother had both hormones and radiation for prostate cancer earlier this year. It did help, he is o.k. now, but the only bad side effect is that he is suffering from hot flashes. He's had them for a few months now, slowly, slowly it is getting better.

My friend's husband was diagnosed with very agressive prostate cancer that was not operable. He received Lupron (hormone) therapy and radiation treatments. His PSA count has come down remarkably - into the normal range. Best of luck to your husband - Jacki
