For those of you who have stayed at both resorts, how do the pools compare? Is the slide at WMH similar to WKORV? Maximum pool depth at WKORV is 4 feet, and there is a kiddie pool. Does anyone recall the maximum depth at WMH?

Is the WMH pool heated when it's not baking outside?

my mind is foggy...

We have not visited either since 2005 and both visits were warm weather visits. I'm going to give WMH the edge in the pool category as you not only have access to the main villa pool, but you have access to the quiet pool and also the hotel pool which has its own (though smaller)pool slide. Alas, WKORV has its own beach which may be a consideration.

Differences:

WKORV (IMHO) has a better kiddie pool as my kids love the rock wall that separates it from the big pool. WMH has better seating surrounding its kiddie pool.

Waterslide is about even. WKORV's slide dumps into the main pool. WMH has a separate slide pool. This pool is probably 4ft deep, but has a serious undercurrent and sliders should be able to swim well when using this slide.

WMH hotel slide is much flatter and shorter. This slide dumps into a side (roped off) section of the main pool. There is no kiddie pool at the hotel pool that I can recall. I think that there is also a quiet pool at the spa, but I'm not sure if WMH villa guests can access that pool.

Keep in mind that I have not visited either since 2005, though I have a week booked at both this upcoming July!

HTH!

One thing I loved about WMH: the cabanas. These are not tent cabanas but more like adobe buildings with one side open to the pool (kinda like luxury horse stalls with a roof, lol). You can rent for about $75/day during the week. They include a table, chairs, lounge chairs, overhead fan and misters, TV, and fridge with bottled water.

I was there about a year and a half ago and used part of my stay to host a work offsite meeting for about 6 people. We rented one of the cabanas to have our meetings outside - it was terrific!
