We will be staying at a Springhills suite soon and the cost is $130.00 or 20,500 points. I have no idea which is the better option.

Is the $130 price all-in with taxes? If so, the redemption value is fairly low at only about 0.63 cents per Bonvoy point. You can typically get better value depending on how and where you travel and use points in the future. That said, if you earned the points for free and don’t often stay in hotels, redeeming them this way isn’t a bad choice. After all, free is always good.

I can get at list .01 / point so $130 would need to be 13,000 or lower for me. Depends on how quickly you earn points.

The Points Guy team says Bonvoy points are worth .007 cents per point. It was .0084 the prior year.

I never redeem for less than a penny a point. But if you don't stay at Marriott hotels frequently and have a lot of Bonvoy points you might accept a lower redemption. But .63 cents a point is not a great value.

We honestly don't calculate the value anymore. Perhaps if we were looking to book a longer stay or a trip to Europe, but we are now in the earn and burn stage. Mostly filling in a night here or there between timeshare stays.
